trenace...I actually agree with everything you say.
My issue is with myself and the demographics I live in. I had to go through college and my time after graduating until now with me having the only ZX-12R and every one of my college and riding friends all having Busa's.
Ninja versus the Busa is all I heard. I defended the Kawi honor and bleeded green more than anyone on this forum.
I should change my rant I suppose to more like I wish they would have dedicated the R&D to make this 1400 a ZX Ninja and not implement it under the ZZR line.
Because the Busa and 12 will still be in the supersport side of things, but the ZZR badge put this in the sport-touring side of things.
I dont know if any of that makes sense. But if it doesnt, trust me I agree with you 110%! I just was ranting on my own weird little demented mind of a soapbox.

I understand and agree completely the point of preferring efforts went into a new killer ZX-12R-type bike. Whether that has or will occur I have no information.
But if you're talking supersport, my guess is this hoss will outhandle the Busa despite not being a ZX and despite the 60" or near to it wheelbase. So the Busa won't be utterly dead killed five times over in handling as it would have been with a new ZX, but when did the Busa 'tards (or the magazines, really) ever care that the ZX beat it for handling anyhow? Not ever.

I finally figured out where I have seen this bike before. The Honda 1000 of the late 80'seven the same color.

Did you notice the Fins or grill work above the exhaust? Just moved a little forward on the Kawasaki. The actually had one in the same color but I could not find the picture. Fugly

How do you think I feel seeing a Night mare before my verry own eyes?? The Back end pipes look like a Super Black Bird, The Sides look like the 1000 Hurricane and the Over all bike looks something like the 1000R Ninja of 1986 and 87. It is more car than Motorcycle. WHO Said that Suzuki and Kawasaki were not sharing Ideas?? They Lied!

BTW, FWIW, here's a 'chop with the side strakes gone, reasonably realistic but not 100% accurate in that area.
I do think the bike looks better without 'em, and the same would be true for the ones on the front fender.
However, it could be the same situation as when the Ferrari Testarossa came out, and I said, "Oh my God, I cannot believe how badly Pininfarina fucked up with those side strakes!"
It turned out though that:
1) They existed because of German law restricting the size of any opening. The air ducts (they were for both brakes and engine compartment cooling) were bigger than this, but the strakes turned each huge opening that would violate the restriction into many smaller ones, none of which did, and
2) The general public did not agree and thought the strakes were fantastic.

I hope thats not the bike, if it is i think i will keep my 03 ZX12R. You would think that kawasaki would have a card up their sleeve, if they dont, dam!!! I hope they do,,, Let us all bow our heads and pray.

I thought the lines on the Ferarri were awesome right from the get go , on the RF900 or anything else since they look hideous , these guys have some of the best builders/designers in the world , why copy crappy ?

IF there is a "King ZX" for 2006, it stands to reason to me that it and the above ZZR would more likely be fairly closely related, unlike past years when the 1200cc ZZR's and ZX's were completely, completely different bikes.
Someone (perhaps it was elsewhere) posted that they were glad Kawasaki got rid of the monocoque and went to twin spar. I dunno. Look at the gas tank design, the frame, and whether it seems completely consistent with a continued ZX-12-type design in terms of frame and airbox. It does seem wider though so it's hard to say -- either way, except for wheelbase being longer than expected for a modern ZX that's not necessarily a frame that couldn't be on a ZX, and wheelbase can be played with.
It seems a lot to expect Kawasaki to come out with an all new ER-650, an almost all-new ZX-10R, an all-new KX450F, an all-new ZZR, AND an all-new "King ZX" ... unless that King ZX shares so much frame and engine similarity with the ZZR that it wasn't a case of double the engineering man-hours needed, but only 30-50% more to have the "King ZX" as well.
So -- if such a ZX exists at all for 2006 -- it seems reasonably likely that while it might have totally different bodywork than above, a shorter wheelbase, perhaps differing suspension components or settings and so forth, it may share a lot of commonality.
Either that, or if it exists while sharing virtually no commonality then 2006 is far and away the biggest flood of all-new Kawasakis ever seen -- or there is no new big ZX at all.
