Fram does indeed suck, you can get Purolator's pureone filter at most Fred Meyers

Alright.....FINE no FRAM....haha

Can anyone help me find one other than OEM?

I'm ordering my oil online at www.imotorcycle.com and I can buy an OEM down the street at the dealer but it's $14.95.

I was kind of going for the no more than $10 range online or some store.

$14.95 for a filter is stupid, oil should be more than the filter IMO.

Trenace actually xref'd the Pure One (and a pretty good article on filters from an objective testing source).

The 12's filter is Purolater Pure 1 PL14610. I've got four of them sitting in my garage waiting to ship to Navpreet in India.

I wouldn't put a Fram on my lawnmower after what I've read in numerous articles.

- Blitz

Edit: Hey Bill, you got that link? I am on a new laptop and haven't xfer-ed my links over yet..

Thats also what I remember.

Pure 1, STP and there was another that did very well. I want to say Mobil1 but I am not sure so I won't.

Others were mediocre at best and still others sucked bad.

Its information worth knowing, and for the record many of the OEM filters are not as good as one would hope.

I made the switch to Pure 1 last spring.

OEM kawasaki filters are made by Toyo Roki, they produce filters for honda as well, now in Nicks case where the OEM filter is 15 bucks (is it just me or does it seem like Roy Ayers raised thier prices) Paying roughly 6 bucks for a filter that performs better than stock sounds good to me!

Ron Ayers definitely raised their prices (along with the locals).

When I bought the A1, the 1070 filters were $7.20. I could live with that (compared to the local rip-off house.... I mean dealer).

But at the current price the filter should come with a tube of KY Jelly.

Thats when we start looking for alternatives, and finding better and cheaper options. ;-)
