I know the liter market is really big, hence the completely revised 10r, but damn I
wish they'd do SOME work on a new 12 or 13 or 14....
I think everyone has given up on the superbikes....

Different market segment.
For example -- not that I'm knocking these guys, that is not the intent as they are good guys -- there's a ZZR1200.net site. I joined a good while back, on account of thinking that maybe I might get a ZZR as a 2nd bike for sport touring or necessary trips that are just boring Interstate riding. (So there's part of why there can be room for 2 different bikes right there.) I don't have many posts there though because I gave up that idea.
Anyhow I went there to post the spy pic (or chop) of the "ZZR-1400.")
I found that since last time I was there, the owner of the site is selling a GRUNGE REMOVAL TOOL for chains.
Seriously.
And these guys are dead serious about it. They need a grunge removal tool.
They have a chain-cleaning thread going on right now. Apparently they're on about an annual basis, most of them. Their described methods include having to scrub for an hour with Simple Green and a brush.
In contrast, I clean my chain (WD-40) every single ride with only very rare exceptions.
Probably most here keep their chains pretty spotless, certainly never getting remotely near the "Grunge Removal Tool" level.
So you see, totally different mentalities of guys riding these two different bikes, ZZR-1200 vs ZX-12R. (That is only a stark single illustration of it: it's not that the bikes need to be designed different with regards to chains.)
The totally different riders who buy ZZR-1200's cannot be looking for example the same new bike that riders who buy ZX-12R's are looking for.
Continuing to have two different bikes for these two quite different markets would make sense.

Well, there are those that clean their chains when they are not even 1/20th the way towards being grungy, maybe not even 1/100th... and those that wait till its far past grungy and actually require a special tool.
Clearly, different relationships with and attitudes towards the bike, and probably different in other regards and priorities as well. For example, likely preferring a different riding position.

I clean my chain by riding over 250kph (155MPH). Then the chain cleans it self without any special tool. I like cleaning my chain

Aren' t the chains sealed? Other than it being unsightly what does the grunge hurt?
Now if you are avoiding the honey-do by hiding out in the garage "cleaning your chain.." I'm with ya 100%. But practically speaking.....what is the point?

Since I have put my new chain on here in the past month or so, and discussing it with Blitz, that is what I have been using, so far I can't complain.
