redelk, I came up with the same numbers that you did as far as what the diameter should be. It was just interesting that on the Dunlop site that it listed the 190/50 with a larger diameter than the 200/50. With equal aspect ratios, the 200 should have a larger diameter like you stated.

I do believe that the stock wheels are 6.0" wide.

Are the Rennsports good street tires or made more for track days?

Rennsports

Mag, it wasn't till I was getting the web addresses, did I actually look at the info on the Rennsports. At first blush, it looks like one of those "DOT race tires". In other words, a "stock" class tire that has to be DOT approved (some form of tread pattern), but has a race compound rubber with more heat cycle tolarence then a full blown race slick.

They also offer the Rennsport in the RS series that offer 3 different race compounds (RS1/2/3), as well as the ME Z Slick and ME Z Rain. Even though the basic Rennsport (not the RS) has what they call a "street" compound, one look at the rear tire tell me that they are "all race". The tread pattern appears to ends a good 1.75" before the edge of the tire contact patch on the rear and almost an 1" on the front.

This tire could very well be the ultimate "street" tire... with just a couple SERIOUS drawbacks. The first would be more of a $$$ issue. I'm sure the compound would be very sticky, but would wear very quicky. The tire's wear life could easily be half of what we'd get for the other brands. I could be wrong on this. Not knowing anyone that I ride with that runs Rennsports (I've only read bits and pieces on the boards), I don't have a clue on how the wear.

Not that this would be bad. If I had the money, it would not be an issue AT ALL! Since I average around 1300 to 1500 miles a month (have 26K+ now), running Rennsports could be a rather pricey option. I'd still like to try them out. Even if it was just one time.

The other downside is far more serious and even potentially dangerous. Even though I do not intentionally ride when the roads are wet or while it's raining, I have been caught in more than my fair share of brief showers. The Rennsport's tread pattern (and it's lack of one on the edges) looks to me that it's not a "rain" tire.

The area lacking any type of tread is wider then the widest of "chicken strips" I've ever seen. Displacing water don't seem to be this tire's best feature. For me, I might have to just park the bike till the roads dry or just ride very gingerly and with a very PUCKERED ASS! Like I said, it looks like it'd be a great tire. That is... until the road get a little damp.

Let's see if I can post some pics of the Rennsports...
