I agree with you on the temp, I would love a digital readout like the R1's have.

u can get aftermarket units intended primarily for race applications. generally pretty $$ and the ones i have seen don't look liek the visibility is very good judging by the pics on the websites.

You know I spose if you handy with electronics it would be possible to use one from a ZX10R. Cut and splice my friend.

Use one from the 10R, are you MAD man, that is the worst part of the 10....I hated the speedo cluster on my ZX6RR , and I still hate it on my 10R.....

i canhelp on speed, butnot on the temperature.
find a sigma BC800 bicycle computer.
(after you stop laughing...)
they can be had for 15-25 dollar shipped.
mount a magnet on the front wheel rotor or other convenient place, and mount the pickup on the fork leg.
cut the wire and splice in a longer section, and then mount the readout unit on the triple-tree or other convenient place. It is designed to fit a 3/4 handlebar, so a small amount of fabricating may be needed, Only bad thing is that it needs a light, and i have been too lazy to get one put on it (especially sine changing to a 120/70 front tire has corrected the OEM speedometer's large error)
measure the circumference of the front tire, and follow directions in the manual to set up the correction factor in the computer. then ride, and enjoy.
the BC800 provides a clock, speed, average speed, max speed, trip miles, trip time, and total mileage.
