Insurance Again, BEWARE
Just got my renewal from allstate, my policy jumped from 209.00 to 741.00 for six months. The increase is called a 459.00 surcharge, because the 12 is on the hit list. The bike is paided for so FUCK EM, I am 50 with no tickets or claims. From what my agent said this will spread thru the Industry for sport bikes, so beware.

Why do you think that they don't make Hemi Road Runners any more? Such a scam. Such a shame.

Allstate tried to raise mine.
I switched to Liberty Mutual. Had to switch the wifes van to them also. State Farm and Farmers will do the same. By the same I mean they will have a reasonable premium, not one that is unreasonable. They insure based on engine size.

...no tickets (heh heh heh )...47 in a couple of months...in San Diego county...and a 12R...full coverage per year with GMAC is $279...like anything else, once the claims increase with 'certain' bikes by more and more riders whether its legit or not, the likelyhood of a mondo surcharge also increases, if not an outright refusal to insure said vehicles when renewal time comes around...so lets be careful and safe out there so we can continue to enjoy our sport...

I hear ya Jim. My first year of insurance on the 12 it was $900, the second it was $350. If it goes up for me again, Im cancelling it...lol! I could have a 1270 for that money!

When you think about it....
Insurance on a motorcycle? When you think about it, if you hit something hard enough to need the insurance, it is probably going to be your heir's problem anyway.

I have to agree with Ozzy. State Farm is very low compared to others.
I'm 31 with a wreckless on my record and I pay $348 a year for full coverage on a 2000 12R.
My wife's 2002 Ninja 250 is $120 bucks a year.
My '93 ZX-6E is a measly $86 a year for full coverage.
Each policy is for 12 months with no deductable and an additional $2,000 healthcare coverage on each.
Last time I checked, that was pretty damn cheap.

Stay away from Allstate. Bad business practices abound. Here in PA, it's a minor miracle to get them to accept liability in any situation, even in a rear-end hit. Their objective is to delay payment on claims as long as possible. Therefore, your premiums can earn interest--making their outlay as palatable as possible. It's even in their claims manual.
Yes I am one of those. However, I ride a '92 ZX11 and I am awaiting the arrival of my new ZX12R, so I can only be half bad, right?

Full Coverage?
Here's a thought. Just carry liability and comp (theft, weather, etc). This should run 1/3 the cost of full coverage. If you crash bad enough (and live) to need full coverage, just dispose of what's left of the bike and report it stolen!!
