Spencer, you will be the first one talking about "your a distributer of CP", so order from you when they have a great piston for our bikes......!?!?! Be supportive of the folks thinking and trying new things and be supportive of the folks willing to share and help WITHOUT CRYING about money. I believe most people are not confortable with non-conformist thinking. Sometimes I feel like Galileo! The world is NOT flat!

RA12R,

NO, I dont think we will ever sell the product line.....

they dont have the selection that is needed. They cost more to boot....AND the owners realize that the motorcycle industry is small and it looks like they are focusing on import cars... I have had the chance to run the pistons...but declined....i also looked into the product line as well...but when i noticed the supply is not there....we moved on....they will make you what you want...and make it nice...but so will MTC and JE. They are nice pistons.

But from a commercial point of view....the selection is not there. BTW...the guys that are CP Pistons use to work at JE and JE was never owned by Weisco...that i know of.... JE has a parent compnay ...but it is not a piston manufacturer.

Thanks

JE and Wiseco in fact merged.

As one reference showing that (not where I first learned it):

http://www.dovercorporation.com/acqbrochure/case7.html

It's also not that unusual for given pistons to be referred to as "JE/Wiseco" rather than either JE or Wiseco, for example:

http://www.theengineshop.com/116_0303_block_pg2.shtml

I highly respect your views, Doug... but in some cases views differ and my personal view on this one is that when Muzzy's answer to the repeated failures of the JE ZX-9 pistons was that they were "designed to a price and one cannot expect better than this at that price, if your requirements are higher you will need to spend more" (paraphrase but pretty accurate) then that ruled JE right off my list forever, at least so far as off-the-shelf ones. How do I know other JE's are not "designed to a price" just like those JE pistons?

It's not as if the ZX-9 pistons came with a "Warning -- these are crap because they are cheap" label. No no no, everything's great, there is no indication ever given that any of them are less good than others.

Pistons are not a part I am going to compromise on... that's just me. I am not interested in shaving a couple or a few hundred bucks off of such a critical item to make them "much cheaper yet almost as good."

Not saying they are terrible pistons or have not served many OK. Perhaps given individual off-the-shelf ones are fine, while others are not. But I just don't have the confidence. Plus, the CP's will be designed around exactly my and Gunner's specifications and purposes, while the JE's of course are not. That is worth something.

Who knows, they may even be delivered ready-to-install, unlike JE's!

Like I said above
"I actually paid "LESS" for my CP Pistons than I did for the "Good Price" Noonan cut me. CP is not a new company, but they also have not been around as long as JE or JE's Owner Wiesco which is a company that I would never Buy another Piston from since my 2 stroke days."

From my first post I stated this.

"You know who these guys are?? They are mostly EX Employeed of JE & their Owner Wiseco Pistons that were not happy with the quality of what was being made."

Doug, when I had my problems with JE, I did a VH Style Search of all data Bases and yes, it may be called a "Nerger" but the real worls Wisecon Ownes JE and Dover Corporation in Wisconsin I believe ownes all of them. So CP is one of the few Independent Piston makers around and again when I was speakint to Mahle Piston, the only company they would even compare their pistons to was CP
