Made an offer on a new house. Now I'm freaking out......
2000 sq/ft, 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath ranch, 2 1/2 car garage and it has a basement that is just unreal, it's so big you could have bowling lanes down there. New furnace and air conditioner 2 years ago, new roof 1 month ago, new windows 3 years ago. The only downside is the inside is stuck in the 60's cosemetically. Shag carpet, crappy kitchen etc. There is a 98 year old man living there who's 99 year old wife died 3 weeks ago. He is moving in with his daughter. I'm offering a fair price for it but freaking out. It' s EXACTLY the kind of house my wife and I want because we want to have another child next year so the 4 br's are key. It's a nice open floor plan although there are still 2 walls I'll be tearing out to completely redo the kitchen. I'll have to sell my house too, quickly. Crap I'm stressed to the fucking 9's.
Just venting cause the house we are in is our first and I've put endless hours into it and selling it will be hard and because I've never had to sell/buy at the same time I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Well, I guess that is if they accept my offer.

Stuck in the 60's. that sounds good to me, means it was built when workmanship had some value! Carpet doesnt mean shit, it needs changing every 5 years if you want to keep up with the current style ( I dont). the kitchen, just an excuse to do some cabinet building out in the garage. You didnt mention lot size, but I assume it is big enough to build a shop on.

Just sit down and develope your plan. What is your exit plan for your house? Will you rent? Do you have the cash to carry both?
Just work out your plan, then work your plan! Then stress will be a minimum. Sounds exciting,,,,,,growth always requires leaving the comfort zone.

It's a nice lot, prolly 1/2 acre. Not as big as the one we have now but that's because we are now on a corner lot. I can't build a shop on the lot cause of association rules but I don't really want to do that anyway. With this 2000 sq/ft basement I am going to build my Woodworking shop downstairs. All enclosed with soundproof walls and the dust collection system outside. It'll be sweet.

Yeah cash is not an issue Ra, I just don't want to have to deal with paying for both homes. We should be able to sell our home within 30-45 days. I'm pricing it to sell, period. Not going to squabble over 5-10K.

I knew I should have called you Tony. We had the monsoon that morning but it cleared up by 2. We had 150 people RSVP that they were coming but the weather put some off so thre ended up ony being 80-90 people there. It was great. Even with about 1/2 the people the keg was gone along with 200 strong jello shots Michelle made.
Thanks Vinnie. The last year has been the most stressful in my life with our core business not doing all that well and still we started a new company. Sometimes life throws you a year where everything seems to go wrong. Things are picking up now though with the core business and the new business is doing great so I'm hopeful the man will let me off easy on this purchase and the sale of my home.
