Muzzy has billet blocks too. I dont know if they are offered to the public though. SBM is expensive. Ive seen to many SBM failures to ever use their products.
Good luck!

You may want to talk to member Iboomalot about the SBM kits. He actally owns one. Ive seen enough of his *other* work to know I dont want to deal with them. Shoot me an email if you want discuss it further.
On a performance note though, the SBM kit for the 12 made exactly 1hp less than a SBM 1500+cc Busa on the AMI dyno. I believe the 12 kit is 1436.

been away from the board
friend of mine had a 1049cc ZX-9r that I just acquired(street bike) and has over 14,000 miles on it and NO problems.
My ZX-12r (more track bike) has been in the shop mainly due to head problems from a cam cog that wasn't lock tighted which was SBM's fault. I just added a wheelie bar, muzzy lockup clutch, and airshifter thats controlled via the dynamainder/shift light( i have an automatic ) can't wait to see how far my times drop with those mods.
SBM has VERY!!!! reliable blocks but I SUGGEST you do the install yourself.
So far great luck with the blocks themselves just not Mike.
The cranks are falicon so no issues there.
great product, poor customer service. install it locally and you should be fine.

Iboomalot was 217hp in daytona a few years ago. He won the dyno shootout.

ZRXDean has the SBM 1195 Billet Block on his ZRX...
NO problems...
I agree with the HIGH priced part...AND the...have someone you can TRUST install it statments though...Dean and I installed his BilletBlock, Carrillo Rods, 6-speed tranny
I also...HATE seeing his name machined into his parts...if I paid "his retail" price for parts...I would want MY NAME on the freekin parts...NOT his!!!

Yeee-ip, zero problems with Mike's steel-sleeved 1195 block. Along with 150+ motor runs, its had ~40 pounds of nitrous through it and no leaks... I thought I'd blown a head gasket once, but it turned out to be a cracked radiator. I of course agree it's better to buy his parts only, his labor is even more spendy- and that's saying something. If Muzzy's nikasil 1195 was available when I bought the SBM, I prolly would've gone that way, but I have no complaints at all.
