"A" model flywheel (alternator rotor) vs B model?

I am wondering, what's the interchangeability and weight difference, if any, between A model and B model alternator rotors? (Aka flywheels.)

The 2000 and 2001 models have different part numbers than the B models.

Are they in fact different weight? Is the reported 2 lb rotating weight difference attributable to this, or to the crank (as commonly stated: I went and bought an A model crank on this belief), or do both contribute to the difference?

Will an A-model rotor fit with a B-model stator? Onto a B-model crank?

Offbeat questions I know but if all or a lot of the 2 lb weight difference is in this part, not the crank, all this seems worth knowing.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Mr Hill has let me know that the lightest of all is to run the A model crank and the B model rotor and stator. Can't delete the post even though not needed now, but on the other hand, maybe it will be useful to others. Thanks Mr Hill!!
