Tires

need tires for LS. Haven't been on the bike in a while...haven't been home.

what's everyone running on the 12?

I probably need to order them ahead of time.
I get home and have 5 days to get my shit in order for the trip.

i'm trying the Diablo Stradas, as u prolly know. the hope is that they have enough grip for my speed of riding (i imagine they do) and will last the whole trip (expecting about 4000miles). if u wanna go real sticky and don't worry about wear, most people seem to choose diablo corsas/supercorsas or pilot powers these days.

i did read of a few members who ran 020s on the rear, and an 010 on the front. they seemed to like em ok, but i am slightly worried about just how much grip they offer. my impression is that 020, pilot road, are all very much on the touring side of the skill. that impression could be very wrong tho. my hopes are the diablo strada has similar wear to those tires but grip closer to the 010.

I'm all touring at this point. I haven't ridden in about 9 months and will probably take it easy on this trip

I can tell you that I practice with Road in the track here and I ride the shit out of those tires, very predictable and a lot of grip. Rear
Im chaging for the rear for a Power since I will go superstock this weekend and I need more grip, but all the new guys with slicks are blown behind in a short track. Las Americas
That is how I use my road on the back,

hope this helps.

PS. 010 on the front.

well if yer takin it easy doug, then i'd think any of those would be just fine. IMHO alot of people (undoubtedly myself included) overestimate their need for grip, as marcos just demonstrated. if u can spend time on a track on Pilot Road tires...

My current rear tire is on 010. I think it has half it's life left.
That should be good for the ride, don't you think frEEk?

Actually, if I am one of the first people at the track, then I should be able to swing down and buy myself a tire and have it mounted.

what you think?

if u come all the way to dino's on the way up, maybe he ship a tire to his place and mount it there for the ride back? or hell, since u'r leaving on the 5th, why not ride up teh coast and meet us for part of the ride down? that shoudl take care of the tire too and u can still get a replacement at the track.

I've done the 600 miles in one day last year with nano.
Don't think I want to do it by myself(or without the credentials associated with Nano)

But, who knows...maybe....we should all trade cell phone numbers and give me your complete plan so I know the score.

I had BT014 installed on mine yesterday. I like them better then the Michelin HPX that I had on before. The HPX just felt less stable in the corners. And why I waited so long to replace the HPXs, I don't know. I was down to the cords on the front.
