u'll prolly have to retune the bike as you're eliminating almost all back pressure. i ran my bike on teh street for a month with stock headers and no can, and it ran like shit. basically i had to bump the idle up, and jsut be careful launching cause it would still real easy. also, it definitely was WAY down in power. surprisingly it seemed to be down at the top end too, which i wouldnt have expected. that may have been improved with remapping tho. most tracks won't let u do that tho (at least not around here) as there are dB limits at tracks and open headers will almost certainly break those limits. i tell u from first hand experience that it is LOUD.

You're gonna be 115 - 120+ dbA range. So in others words, just slightly quieter than a Moto-GP bike. (120 - 130 dbA range). So you'd better have a good set of ear plugs and be ready to get things thrown at you from your neighbors in the pits.... You'll probably lose power, as your mapping is not going to be correct without some back-pressure (as freek indicates) and your shortening the overall tuned length that Muzzy designed the system for. Open pipes are not indicative of making huge power unto themselves with your particular application. You would require a megaphone type rear section to perform "better", besides the mapping changes. Even many of the Moto-GP bikes use a short megaphone rear section. In your case, there's no logical reason to run it without the muffler.

My canister is damaged so I was thinking of maybe making one GP stile, smaller in diameter outside and same core 2.25" core inside.

I have no restriction in noise here in RD.
