ECU connectors? So as to be able to plug in Muzzy EMS

Are the connectors to the plugs going into the ECU some standard type that I could buy, and can anyone supply the needed descriptions?

They don't seem to be listed in the Kawasaki parts manual as separate items. This is for a 2005.

I would much rather make an adaptor that would plug into the Muzzy's plug and to the two chassis plugs, than cut into the bike's harness. So if anyone has that info it would be a huge help. Thanks!

I looked into that...but when doug said you could just plug in the MMS along with the stock ECU and use all the goodies on hte MMS anyway instead of the ECU...I gave up on that idea

Well, if I had a clue of how to do that I'd be in business then!

But, I cannot see how to do that! The connector on the Muzzy EMS is nothing like the connectors on the harness. Mine, anyway, did not come "plug in."

Now, yes, if I knew what connectors are needed to plug into the bike's harness, I could route some wires to the Muzzy EMS and some wires to the stock ECU, I suppose, so as to be able perhaps to retain things unrelated to mapping like tipover engine kill, etc.

But as is I cannot "plug in" the Muzzy EMS at all: I would be stuck hardwiring into the harness unless I can plug into the connectors. And one would think the connectors are most likely a standard sort that can be bought? So that is the question?

Its supposed to have a harness/adapter that came with it to allow this to happen.

Nada, nothing, zip, zilch. It did not come with any such thing.

I will e-mail Muzzy's and see if I can buy one then. Thanks!

(But also if anyone has that connector info it would be VERY much appreciated!)

trenace- Sounds like you did not purchase the wiring harness. Did you buy the MMS direct from MUZZYS? You also will need the trigger wheel and maybe some sensors depending on you're application.

I tried buying direct from Muzzy's first but you'd discontinued selling the MMS at that point, with a replacement product being planned but not then available, and I wasn't able to find out how soon it might be available. I then found a new, still sealed in the box Muzzy MMS for sale at Brock Davidson's, so that's where it came from.

I've emailed Dave at Muzzy's, and hopefully we'll get it worked out as to what other accessories I need to buy to get it working on the 12. Glad to hear that there is such a harness!

Thanks, Rob!
