I suspended it with tie wraps one from each end of the subframe, with foam (from a foam rubber mattress top) underneath it.
I also moved it down close to the front of that area, almost up against where the seat goes, thus centralizing the mass a little (for what that's worth, rather negligible.) I did have to split the electrical tape wrapping the harness so as to be able to move it down like that, easy enough to do.

I dont have an undertail, but I mounted my Yoshimura EMS and Hub on the subframe side rails. Leaves more room under the seat for important stuff. Like nitrous..

I have an 02 and I don't know if it is different from the 04. When I installed my undertail, the ecu was relocated inside the tool box towards the tail light. Holes were cut at the back of the tool box to pass the wire harnesses. The ecu is held in place with the rubber strap that held the tool pouch. As for the PC, I have a Dino seat hinge and the PC is mounted to the underneath of the passenger seat. If you want, I can take pictues of my setup and send it to you.

Hmm, my undertail must be different than pdb's, I cut away ALL of the stock undertail except the part that holds the taillight, back to a point a couple inches in front (relative to the bike) of the screwholes for the tailpiece. Also keeping the tabs that attach it to the upper subframe rails. There is so little of the stock undertail left that you have to look pretty hard at the back to see it even with the tailpiece off.
Definitely no toolbox remaining.
Of course, I lost the installation instructions, so that may not be how they said to do it! LOL!

Here you are b ralston. I hope the images demonstrate what I was trying to described earlier. If you have any questions about any of the pictures, ask away.

Oh, actually that's the same type of undertail that I have.
Nice installation with the Dino Hinge!

I bought that hinge used from fish-antlers. The holes to mount the PC were already there. Made it pretty easy. I have a tap and die set and even if the holes weren't there, it would of been easy still.
