replacing rotors

can you just replace the discs or do you have to replace the carriers too? the warpage is quite minor, but still enough to make me uncomfortable when slowing down from 200km/h+, plus i just feel much better with dead smooth brakes. this is on EBC prolites btw, not the stock rotors. i dont see replacement discs on EBCs website.

I am running EBC ProLite UK Race rotors on my 12 (from swft to Dino to me)...mine are not warping, but I inquired with the local dealer about that same question last riding season and he called PartsUnlimited and some other distributors he gets stuff from but could not find those specific replacements either. So I dunno...curious to find out if anyone else know more info out there as well.

Freek, get a hold of Crashtech, he is running EBC rotors on his 12 and so is Roger, and if anyone one woudl know Roger would. If you PM or email Crashtech he can talk to Roger, he does it everyday. I am sure they have the answers you need...

I've got the EBC "Turbo Race" rotors on mine w/no problems so far...(knock on wood!)

A buddy of mine got me the set for $325 per PAIR. The "Turbos" are not available anymore, but I think those same "types" of rotors are still available for about the same price? I can check on it if you like...

If I remember correctly the Race version of the rotors you can change the rotors on the carriers, but not on the street version....but Crashtech or roger would know for sure, they had a lengthy conversation with the EBC guys in Indy at the dealer show

Oh yea let me tell you about EBC. We learned alot. Mine work great now that we fixxed them. Mine were doing the same thing since new. Rog did the work but from what I understand the rotor was attatched to the carrier to tight out of the box (hence the vibration, solid mounting). I kept thinking WTF!!! they can not be warped allready? What we ended up doing was changing the buttons out for the ones that came with the rotors (each box had a bag of buttons that are bare alum. with clips and ect). They are a fraction smaller, the exact amount we needed to give the rotor a true float. Now they work GREAT. No vibration. I had to make it hard on Rog though, I had the extra buttons anodized red to match the originals so he did a lot of measuring. EBC did tell us that they sell replacment rotor discs for the pro-lites. You might have to e-mail them direct and ask for them thought. The owners name is David.
