Didn't know that ROCKET. Well after two days of driving it I have to say I am really impressed. The straight 6 cylider engine has tons of power, rides great and looks great. I have one complaint though and it seems this is true with all SUV's. The seats suck. My LHS front seats has nice bumps on the outside edges that keep you cocooned in the seat so when your turning you don't move. The Trailblazer has these bumps but much smalled and I find myself sliding to the inside during left hand turns. I'm sure I'm just not used to it yet, but I am disappointed in that one thing.

My buddy Rick is an electrical engineer for GM and had a hand in the developement of the power train system in this vehicle. It's because of him that I got it. He said the straight 6 is an awesome motor and will be seen on more models in the future. It's got a lot of power, you'd be suprized. Very quite too and no vibration whatsoever. I'll let you drive it down at the Gap in May.

Cool.......

Be sure and let me get good and smoked up first.

I just checked that link that you sent me on it the other day. (again) I see now that it has a 4200 Vortec Inline 6 cylinder. What's that, about 260 cubic inches??? If so 270 HP is even MORE impressive. Cool ride man, I like it.

See the U.S.A.

Out of Chevy's own mouth:

Vortec 4200 I6
The powerful Vortec 4200 engine delivers a broad torque curve through the majority of the engine's speed range, which is helpful when hauling big or heavy loads. TrailBlazer generates 270 hp at 6000 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm. In fact, 90 percent of the torque is available from 1600 rpm to 5600 rpm. TrailBlazer estimated MPG 16 city, 22 highway (2WD) and 15 city, 21 highway (4x4).(1) Find out more about TrailBlazer's speed and horsepower by visiting Baja.

1 Based on GM testing. Official EPA estimate not yet available.

http://www.chevrolet.com/trailblazer/index.htm

In comparison, the 4.0 inline six (which is no slug)in my Wrangler and Cherokee makes about 190 hp and 235 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 4.2 Vortec is quite impressive.

Inline 6 !!!

Good choice, C!!! Sure there are more powerful options, but you CANNOT beat the longevity & low maintainence of the Inline motor!!! I'm sure that you bought it and didnt lease it??? By the way, I see the tow hitch, but why didnt they throw in a 3 rail motorcycle trailer for you??? Dont forget to put a ZX12 sticker on the back window!!!

Crotchrocket, no it's leased, my company pays for it, a perk. No a trailer didn't come with it, although it sure as hell should have!
