Attn: Doug Meyer - 2002 throttle cam

The most exciting improvement that I can see on the 2002 is the oval throttle cam! Hopefully someone will copy it and put into production for 2000-01's!

- Doug Meyer / Muzzy comes to mind! Put me down for the first one!!! zx23rr@home.com

Doug, is this do-able? Frank

Will the 2002 throttle not fit/work on the 2000-2001?

The benefit would be easier to control throttle at low settings for less lurch off idle without going to a half turn throttle.

You know that part when you're making a tight 90 deg turn in one lane like into a driveway and you give it "just a little" throttle and you then go wide and almost hit the bushes and so you back off and lurch like an idiot and then pull in the clutch?
It would fix that.

Guys...In slow riding you modulate your speed with the clutch and brake while keeping the throttle steady at lets say 2000rpm ( can be any RPM )

So,in this situation the throttle cam would not be needed!!!

As for riding around in traffic and normal riding than it's a big help!!!

Hopefully it would make 1st gear wheelies a little easier to control as well.

It's not really for slow riding.

You've all heard (I hope) Slow, Look, Lean, Roll?

Well, between lean and roll it helps to not have the bike lurch when you roll on the throttle.

That's what it's about.

Actually I was hoping it would shorten the last 25% of throttle instead of lengthen the first 25%. As it is now I have to either 'preload' my wrist or drop my right elbow to get it all the way open.

When your just cruising around and the guy next to you drops the hammer you don't want to close the throttle for second just so you can reposition your hand so you can get on it all the way.

That's actually what it DOES do. The movement required for a given throttle opening becomes less and less as you open the throttle. The pulley is elliptical.

No- that's a mapping thing (assuming you have a pipe). But it will be easier to deal with.
