Pro's and con's of Scotts Performance Billet Oil Filter

Someone please tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly to getting this cause I would rather plunk down the $108 cash to get this and not having to buy disposable oil filters every 2500 miles for the ole 12...

I hope it comes w/spare o-rings? From the info page "filter strap not included"...sheeze...why not a bolt head on the front to make it easily removable???

But everything listed on those websites is all positive. Is there anything negative about this filter? I am shocked this hasnt been brought up on this forum before.

I dont mind spending the cash if it is worth it, cause it mean saving some cash in the long run on the stock filters.

Anyone?

I have no filtering info but I claims to do pretty well on their site. (just one of the reasons I purchased one). It has five oil changes on it now and still looks new. Very good quality and has a semi-built in oil cooler. Just my 12R cents....

How messy is the cleanup of the filter when you do your oil changes?

no worse than dropping the stock filter. My partner has one, as far as time and cleanup---takes the same amount of time as my stock filter.

some guys change oil alot. I know most drag racers do. 10 oil changes wouldn't take very long. I change oil atleast once a month during the race season, 7-8 months of riding .
I'm interested in how reliable is their claim on filtration.
$100 parts for these bikes is nothing, usually it's $500 or $999.

This thing has been brought up before. I am using them on the race car and have no complaints. The newer ones have a different end, so that a wrench will fit them. ALSO the big thing is, Make sure and get them as tight as possible. Alot of the cars have blown the O-ring out of them. I did once and since then I put it on as tight as I can and no problems.
