Interesting heads dept...
I talked to a "friend" saturday who gets tid bits from HRC and Honda Japan thru ______ racing, told me that honda has a new cylinder head for the cbr1100xx. It will use a modified vtec system and 33.5mm intake valves. He didnt say what the displacement will be or even that the engine will have a displacement increase at all. But in order to fit 34mm valves the bore will have to be increased from the current cbr1100xx. I guess he saw A prototype head or pictures of it at least. His info over the last few years has been spot on. He said that honda got the green light for "a few new projects" that were on hold when the speed restrictions were inked in early 2000. He also said that Honda wasnt very happy about being bumped from #1 producer in 99 and it stirred up some shit. Also he said that the 400cc class is poised to make a return to american soil in the next few years and they are coming out with somthing for the club racers. Maybe the SV650 became a target when it made the hawks a non issue at the club level of racing.
I guess that ticked honda off as well.
Maybe they have awoken the giant after a 4 year slumber?

I reaD that the Interceptor got the VTEC system this year. I don't think it made much more HP. That's not to say the potential isn't there.

Honda is at it again. It looks like the SV650 is gonna have some new company. I didnt see the frame but the engine looks like it might be a tight V engine. (45 degrees maybe?)
