Edited quotes from the One Wheel Drive interview with Dan Fischer on the MRX 650
The Hyosung is a great motor. It doesn't fit into the Superbike category, but with all of the frame and chassis components that create this bike, the handling will be incredible. If people want more power there are other products on the market, but our top speed will be close to 140 MPH. The V-twin gives you a broad, useable power band, too. Performance mods are already in the works, so it will be fun to ride stock or otherwise.
Think of how people always say how fun the SV 650 is to ride, no matter what your ability level. If you can envision that type of rider-friendly power band with a top-shelf, GP-inspired chassis with Ohlins forks and Brembo brakes, then you have a good idea of what we are offering.
As for why Hyosung? Having tested and ridden these engines, they are very strong and very reliable. We couldn't ask for a better engine for our first product; I have personally revved the hell out of these engines and am very comfortable offering a warranty on them.
The development of the supercharged version is coming, but will be at least a year behind. There's a lot more to it than just the supercharger unit alone. There are also revised cams and other changes to the engine internals and externals, and the electronics.
Concerning offering other displacements in the near future...
We're concentrating on putting out the bike you have seen right now, the MRX 650, and making a good, reliable product.

Is that the same bike that was on the cover of the Cycle world a few months ago? What was the name of that one? Some polish named rich guy from the US trying to build his own version of super bike with a tricked out front fork or some big time design change that was actually rideable.

I hope this is not a US bimota, I read that a bimota was tested side by side with a TL1000R, same engine and the TL wass better bike 100%.

I saw it too. Looked sweet in the flesh, but there was no one at the booth at the time, just the bike. The question is how much$$$? I already have an SV650S, sometimes she even lets me ride it.

If memory serves my Hyosung(SP) was a suplier for Suzuki and their bike one bike is a knockoff of the SV?
Reminds me of the crappy mini bike I had as a kid. It was a Gemini, anyone remember them? They were at one time a supplier for Yamaha. Relationship fell apart and they did their own bike for a few years. (I'd love to fine one like I had)
Ferchristsake we put a guy on the moon why can't we build a killer sportbike, No offense Buell. GM bike, Good Year tires and American rider dominating MotoGP. Would that bee cool or what

We live in a worrld that is an interconection of all things, the world is way smaller since I was born, here in Dominican Repuclic we make most of the hi-delicate medical stuff(not electronics), sensors for Mercedes Benz and Peugeot, brakers, and with PR (same owner a Dominican) we make all the glass botles for 80% of the medical stuff for the USA, we have to forget this is from this or that part of the world, and become open, I think more of the things people have in comon than diference betwen countries (I have not seen the lines that apear in the maps).
Can we dominicans make a car, yes we have done it (except the engine) and a good one but interest of big dogs here where against it.
Im an industrial eng. and the diference betwen a product is the people.
Imagine USA, of course can make a good bike, you just have to remember that japan has more experience, and step on theyr head and not start again, just copy until you get the idea.
I hope that you remember that wen you put something to plug your heart that maybe I came from this small island. anyone that has a good product should be suported 100%.
