Looking For PC3 Custom Muzzy Map
Howdy,
I'm new to the board, and just recently got myself a PC3 and Muzzy Ti system for my blue 2001. I'm planning on installing now that it's -29C out and I can only play 4 hrs of Superbike 2001 at a time......goddamn snow.... however I digress...
Anyone out there have a custom map that is working well with the following mods??
2001 with Full Ti Muzzy and K&N filters....
I had heard of a flat spot removal and an abrupt throttle fix? Any ideas/links, hints etc would be greatly appreciated.
Feel free to email any maps to:
chris.castonguay@sympatico.ca
Cheers,
Chris

Brrrrrrrrr
Hey Bubba,
Sorry about the cold. I have a similar set-up on my '01. SS full Muzzy's, PCIIIr, K&Ns, block off plates (no Kleen air). I tried several maps from around the net and when I changed my oil after 800 miles it wreaked of gas. I immediately scheduled a dyno mapping. The dyno run provided peak hp of 180.8 at 9800rpm and peak torque of 100.2 ft-lbs. More importantly it smoothed out throttle response and eliminated the dead spots. Turns out all the maps I was using were far too rich on the bottom end and through midrange as well. Some of these maps were also taken from freinds who had their 12s dyno mapped. What I'm getting at here is it is well worth it to pay the $250 and get your own custom map at a DynoJet tuning center for your bike because each bike IS different. You will love the way YOUR bike will respond once you get it dialed in with the custom map. Besides you should let the 12 breath every once in a while even if it is -30 there. Just my .02

Speednuts, so are you going to help him with your very good map or be like Robert in the early days?!

PCIIIr Map
I'd be glad to send him a copy of my map but I think you missed the point of my post. Each bike is different. My map was tuned for my bike. It may not work as well on his bike and certainly won't work as well as a custom map made for his bike. It's entirely his choice. If he'd like a copy of my map I'll email it to him but I don't think that's the best map for his bike.

In reality, I'm looking for a place to start working on a map....I still have about 2 1/2 months before i can even get to a dyno!!! (Goddamn snow...it was only -15 today, but sunny...great)
Anything would be helpful, so I can tweak and check out the differences between maps. I'm still getting used to this FI stuff...
Thanks again,
Chris

Anyone knows of any good shop that does dyno tuning and can give me a custom map. I am located in Delaware and dont mind traveling 3-4hrs to have it done. There has to be someone in PA. Maryland, Jersey, or the surrounding areas that have had this done?

Dyno Run
4Play there is a shop in Cockeysville (never thought I'd use those two in a sentence about 12s) just outside Baltimore. TCR Cycle. They are a dynojet tuning center. Look them and others up on the dynojet website under tuning centers. You can locate a tuning center in almost any state and it's good to use a certified tuning center. My 4 hour run with custom air/fuel map and iginition timing map ran me $250 and you'll get a custom map, dyno sheet with hp/torque chart and most importantly a smooth running 12.

The shops with the dyno will do the job, but the question is what f/a ratio will they set your bike to? I had one done, the shop wanted to set my bike for 13:2 to 1. That ratio will make my bike lose power, because of the humidty. He is correct about the map for your own bike, however, if you dyno you bike get the map with the sniffer in the tailpipe, and then compare the two, vs rpm, you can make map for your bike and then retest. You can easily get your bike set up for around 1/2 what they want to charge you to make a map at a specific setting. I feel a shop is going to tune your bike they should be doing it the old fashion way, by starting with base map(muzzy)then run the bike and take a look at the a/f ratio bounce that to the dips in the graph. Once the ling(graph) is smooth, then increase the the numbers by 2 for the entire map starting around 4k rpm. If the bike makes power, increase it by 2 again, it if lose power, then you change the decrease the numbers by and run the bike. This will give you the most power from the bike, and still not run it too lean. That's how it should be done. When dyno's came out this is how they were getting peak hps.
