How many broomed their Busa for a 12..........
How many broomed their Busa for a 12.......... Any regrets? Just curious
I did in 2000 and for the new 12 and since bought an 02 12R and then of course the 10R.

All my friends are still trying to talk me into Busas...They are sure easy to ride though, but I enjoy the challenge of riding the 12!!!

I had both in 2000.......both 2000 models. Road them over the same routes time and again just to see what all the arguing was about. Liked the 12 so much better I sold the Busa and bought a GSXR 1000. Then bought another 2000 12R............

First one in town to have a Busa.......sold it as soon as the 12's came in.......haven't looked back since!!

I traded my 00 Busa for an 01 12R - missed a couple things.
1) The Busas' seamless injection - that 12 never shoulda been sold the way it was IMHO.
2)The Busa seat is pretty damn comfy - rings doubly true for pillion.
3)I missed the Busas torque (in a similair way that I now miss the 12's torque as compared to the 10R).
4)Until the 12 broke in (1750 miles) - I was really worried bout the bike ever seeing 3k miles because it ran so rough.
I would still like a Busa as a second bike.

I broomed my 99 busa after having the engine replaced three times! a. fuel screen recall, 2 cam chain recalls, etc. Heres my sad story.
1. cam chain tensioner went away boom! blew chunks out of the motor. No big deal i thought its under warrenty, brought the bike to the dealer. They messed around with it for four month's until i got it back.
2. Now i'm worried about the quality. I ride the bike real easy for about two weeks. Lone and behold i have a major oil leak spewing out the side. I almost wrecked on the highway because oil got on the rear tire. I'm stuck miles from home. Turns out the idiot who put my bike together didn't use locktight on a certain bolt and this caused the counterbalancer to hit the crank!! I take it to a few local shops because i want to sue, but none of the other motorcycle dealers will represent me because they are afraid of the major dealer in my town. I take the bike back to the dealer and they acuse me of rider abuse and charge me $600.00 to boot (teardown).
3. I send the motor to Lee's performance to get it done right. Lee does a fantastic job and throws in a few extra goodies. Now my bike kicks a@@, he puts a manual cam chain tensioner and all is well for a while. The pc2 seems to have a mind of its own, my fuel line keeps getting crimped some how, the fuel system gets replaced, a crap load of headaches. After all this the bike finally runs right for about 6 month's. Then one day the engine starts making a funny noise (knocking sound) only at 1200 rpm under part throttle. I take it to the local dealer were theres supposedly a guru. Theres no metal shaving to be found and he cant find a problem. Mean while it takes about two month's for them to get too my bike and a 300 dollar charge. Now i'm really angry. A bunch of idiots in this town and a damaged bike.
During all this bs my wife owns a zx11, we sell it. I decide to get her a zx12 just to see if they are really faster, better etc. Because my busa is modified 185 hp, its not too much of a contest. However, I like the way her bike handles and the green paint is pretty cool. Her bike has no issues whats so ever. For years i've steered away from any suzuki products because i always knew they made cutting edge products but i always thought they were on the edge for reliability.
Needless to say i reclucantly traded in my busa. I loved the attention, fear and respect this bike commanded. Everywhere we went including harley hangouts it got oohs and ahh's while my wifes bike would often get overlooked. I loved the torque my modded busa made. My friend owns a 01 gsxr1000 and it has a pipe, pc, etc. He raced my wifes bike (stock) and it was a pretty even race until about 150 mph and the 12 would pull slowly pull away from the gixxer. During the race i was about 10 bikes back observing. They started at a second gear roll I passed both of them in a non tucked position. They were both tucked in and looked over surprised as i waived at them.
My wife and i did a few track days together. Under these conditions I felt the twelve was a better bike. It felt lighter and i actually lapped better times on my wifes 12. Furthermore, the bike was more refined and did not have any vibration issues my busa had(annoyingly at highway speeds buzzing threw the foot pegs and handlebars.
I was really starting to like the zx12. I knew the bike had potential.
As i stated earlier my busa continued to give me hell until one day i traded it in on a 02 zx12. I made every excuse not to buy one, i told them i would only buy one if they had the candy thunder blue. Wow i forgot they are a powersports group. Opps we have one plus i got the bike for around here, at a big discount. I got the bike and was initially dissappointed. But, I added a carpenter 1290, step hindle, blah, blah and it makes quite a bit more hp then my busa did. It handles better,faster, more reliable, and know i go around slaying the busa boys! what more can i ask for!!

I heard from Daniel that JW decided not to sell it, I don't know man, he is weird like that. Daniel said he went and rode it right before you were supposed to come get it and he changed his mind. Give it a week, I bet he calls you and asks if you are still interested.

We didnt even make it from there to 95 before he called whinin about his mom not wanting him to sell it...makin him feel bad...and that he had changed his mind.
Hell HE CALLED ME and said he wanted to sell it.
after all that...im not buyin shit from him....the price went down a helluva lot if he still wants to sell it.
