Dynojet Took Care of Me.................

As many of you know I got a PC3r that was on my bike less than 24hrs. before I had to take it off and send it to Dynojet. I wasn't a happy camper to say the least, especially when I factored in the horror stories we've all read about dynojet's customer service. But in my case, it ended pretty well.

I express mailed the PC back to them, they repaired it friday. I talked to the tech (Travis) and he said that my PC had another problem besides the one I knew of, which was that the only way my computer would see the PC3r was if the bike was running. The other problem was with the eprom.

Anyway, I talked to him late friday after he had repaired it and he told me that he sent it back to me UPS Red, Saturday delivery, and threw in a Dynojet cap for me. I was shocked, but very happy at what I heard.

It did arrive saturday.I installed it and it works perfect. The bike runs AWESOME and I wish it was warmer out where I could go on a good ride. But for now 5 or 6 mile blast are all I can take.

I'm running the Dynojet Yoshimura map with some small tweaks at "0" throttle position at a the low rpm points to try and smooth the idle as much as possible, and I'm running "Hank's" timing map. Other than that I'm pretty happy with the way it runs. Wheelies better than ever, and you know I like that!!! The pipe lightened it up, and what few curves I've had it through I could tell that the 12 felt better.

I now only have one question. In the timing maps, are the numbers in the fields actual degrees of advance, or a percentage??????? I know the fuel is a percentage. I know one of you guys know. My instinct is telling me it is degrees, but I could be wrong.

I did a very "Clean" installation of the PC and routed the cables under the subframe cross-brace, and under the crossmember that the tank rest on. That was the tough part. I'll take some pics when I get time. I relocated my ECU as well.

All in all I'm happy with the way the bike runs, and I'm glad Dynojet handled the situation like they did.

Yeah BAY-BEE!!!!!!!!!!

Otis,
The Yosh is Very Shagadelic.

How could I not be happy with it?!?!?!?!? It will fucking spin and wheelie in 1st!!! Very "touch and go" in 1st gear.In 2nd you can power it up and just walk it. Not to mention how easy it clutch wheelies now. If I had to pick on anything right now it'd be the roll on in high gear seems just bit soft. I'm talking very minor and It could just be my mind playing tricks on me. It kicks mucho ass everywhere else. Either way, for no more time than I have with playing with the maps I'm tickled pink. I know with a little time it will only get better, and if all else fails I can run this "baseline" map I've come up with and be happy because the bike does run extremely well. No popping or anything on decel. Just a slight idle hunt which is almost non-existant. In time I hope to have the hunt gone.

You'll see it in May. Can you say wheelie???? I thought you could.

Yeah....

I'm pretty damned happy with it C. I'm ready to see the bike with it's clothes back on, but I've still got some minor things I want to do. I want to make sure all is well before I button it back up. I've had the valve cover and everything off and I want to make sure I have no leaks etc.

Gotta change the oil, lube my clutch cable,(already done the throttle and fast idle cables) grease the swingarm pivots and stuff as well. Plus I'm going to detail the engine while I've got the plastic off. It isn't really dirty or anything, just figured now would be a good time to do it.

It's a different bike with the Dussault Undertail, Hans Hugger, PC3r, and the Yoshimura. It looks better to me, and definitely RUNS better, as it should for the $$$$ I threw at it. Oh yeah FYI....I must have got a "GOOD" Muzzy fan. Mine doesn't make any funny noises, all it does is move air, and lots of it.

Can any of you guys answer my question about the values in the ingnition table???? Are the numbers representing degrees, or a percentage???????????

I know one of you knows the answer.

Yeah I'll trade but I'll need a couple hundred dollars to boot. Fair eh????

Thanks on the info about the ignition table values, I figured that's what they were but wanted to be sure. I bumped it up a few degrees at "0" throttle position in the 500, 1000, 1500 rpm area trying to smooth the idle hunt. It seemed to help along with changing the fuel values in those areas. It idles pretty smooth, but I may be able to get it even better.

Mine idles pretty smoothly with the cool temps we've got right now. A hot summer day and hot engine is when I notice the hunting the most. Just keep the tach needle up near redline as much as possible and don't worry about the idle!!

Im glad to hear that you are happy with your product. I know that we already discussed this in private but for all board memebers.

Ignition is most definitely in degrees from stock.

Ignition Timing.....

If the values on the PC3R chart for ignition timing are degrees advanced, what purpose does the adjustable ignition advance rotor from Muzzy serve??? If the ignition timing is adjustable via the PC3R, does that mean the Muzzy device is not needed with the 12R??

Bingo!! A lot of Muzzy's timing advance units were sold back when only the PCIII was available. Now most 12R owners seem to be buying the PCIIIr. No need for the mechanical advancer when you've got a PCIIIr!

RR....

Thanks for the sanity check, the adjustable rotor makes sense for a bike without the PC3R.

Adjustable advancer......

BMW,
RocketRacer is right, no need for the mechanical advancer if you have the PC3r. I pulled my Muzzy advancer out and replaced it with the stock rotor. I sold the advancer to the fella who bought my Muzzy Ti Bolt-on. I made him a hell of a deal on that stuff.

Tearinitup really helped me out guys, I know he had something to do with the PC getting shipped back UPS Red Saturday delivery. Even though he has yet to take any credit whatsoever. Thanks man, you helped me out and I appreciate it.

PC-3

I've been lucky as I've had no problems out of my PC-3.I got mine just before they released the R version.

Hopefully......

Hopefully mine will remain problem fee from here on out.

Another thing that I think I've failed to mention is how much my bike smoothed out. On/off throttle transitions have never been so smooth. Needless to say this is another plus, and one that I'm real happy about. Money well spent even if I did have a small hurdle or two to get passed.

Rocket,
Next time it's convenient to take off your fan for a while, send it to me. I'd liike to see where it's hitting and I'll fix the problem.

Doug-
I've got some stuff I need to do to the bike this spring - may mess with the fan at that time. Been a while since I really took a good look, but I don't think it is actually hitting anything. I'll keep your offer in mind - might put the plastic blade back on and send you the aluminum one to look over. Thanks!!

Tearinitup - I've got three different 12s with PCIIIr on them, and none of them will come up with just the igition on. All require starting the bike, and then stopping it with the kill switch. I'd hate to have all three out of service, is there anything I can do here to fix the problem?
