ZX12 is faster than an RC51?
So I am buying a ZX12 from a friend. I borrow it last night to ride to work for a day or two while I decide. Can you believe this? The ZX12 is faster than my RC51. I could have sworn they said the RC51 was capable of 205mph.

I have riden an RC51 and I knew it that ticket was so false. Back in 02, my friend and I pegged it and the RC didnt have any rate of acceleration past 155 whereas the 12 passed it like it was standing still.
But the RC51 is awesome for turning. It is overpriced. Isntead of spending the extra to make the RC better, just get an Aprilia.

I raced a rc-51 with my wife on the back........burned him to the ground!

Harry.... maybe the race would have been closer if you used a beach cruiser instead of your 10 speed....lol.
You get used to "crazy fast"....lol. Pretty soon 300hp isnt enough.
Not bad for a ride that can run 9s in the 1/4, lap Jennings under 1:30, run on pump gas, and can take you across country.

...but that was a "slightly" modified RC-51 tho! You'd be suprised at how much difference a can make on an RC-51!!!

"slightly" my ass. My RC51 is the same year, same exhaust (Two Brothers Carbon Hi mounts) and no way it will do 205. Now, this 12? I think it could get closer to the 205 mark than the RC. heh heh heh

I would suspect that you can get a helluva lot closer to 205 with a 12R than an RC 51. The RC's just don't have the same quantity of power.....but if you think a stock 12 has got the power..wait till you get on a big bore bike......then get bored of that and get a stroker...and some nitrous to fill the low spots in the torque curve........ then a turbo ....it never stops (and I am so guilty of this)LOL

I wonder wy you guys answer a RC-51 is a 120 hp bike, a full blown race RC-51 just waited for the straigth with me at the track and he got on the gass before me and I -1 on the front only and I pased the guy so fast that he asked me what the f... I have on my bike.
