doctor laid it out
no more riding until I'm off the coumadin. He said a fall or head bump could cause a serious problem and they can't do anything for it then.I know the season is almost over but I still feel bummed about it.I'm a little scared that they'll not be able to keep my heart beat regular and have to stay on this drug long term.Life can be unpredictable and usually taken for granted,so I had to go to my gratitude list to keep my priorities right and be thankful for what I do have.Doc tells me,coumadin is what they put in rat poison to make them bleed to death when they eat it.Nasty!

I'm not clear on what injury you have, or what "coumadin" is....????
After my umteenth serious head injury a few years ago, I was diagnosed w/multipile-concussive syndrome (to many concussions.) The last one basically killed me & the EMT's brought me back to life.
The docs said one more good head hit would be my last. I was under orders to do NOTHING dangerous that could result in a head injury. No riding, sking, ice-skating, etc. In other words (to me), no more fun, no more enjoying life.
Well, perhaps stupidly I ignored it & have kept riding. If I go out someday via a bail & head hit? Oh well. At least I went out doing what I love, & not slowly wasting away in some rest-home or hospital bed. I have standing orders no intibation if brain dead.
My mom did same. Died in a plane crash a couple years ago; & once told me if she every died that way "I'd rather go out doing what I love," which was some small condolence to me....I still dearly miss her tho. Died way before her time due to a stupid pilot running the plane out of gas...BTW he survived ok. Twit...
oops...babbling here...sorry if I bastardized this, just wanted to make a point of enjoy life as much as you can while your here. You can't take it with you ya know....
All the best for a complete recovery...
Dave

My hearts top chambers occasionally stop pumping and just sort of quiver for lack of a better word.I'll be that way for hours and then it restarts on its own. Most of the time I'll feel it,sometimes not.I take a med to keep my heartbeat regular, sometimes it just don't work.Problem starts when I stay in afib longer than 24 hrs and blood clots may form and the heart starts to pump normal again. So they put me on coumadin(blood thinner)so I won't develope blood clots.Good until I cut myself or get banged and I'll have a hard time stopping the bleeding.Doc says 4-8 weeks to see if the med is keeping my heart regular and then they'll re-evaluate canceling the coumadin.

I e-mailed Bergie and called Jason Miller to cancel out. It's just not worth their reputation and my health.I don't know what their return policy is,but if there is none then I'll post after I call tomorrow, maybe a member could go in my place. If it is meant to be,I'll sign up again in the spring time. That would be better anyways as I'll have continuity to carry on throughout the year.Such is life.

Alive, go to a Chiropractor that uses a "Gonstead" technique". Sounds to me like you have a restriction and some mild pressure in your upper thoracic area. This area of your spine provides the sympathetic nerves that has some affect . Then after that area is freed up and cleared, have your upper cervicals checked closely. Your problem is NOT genetic, it is mechanical. Cummatin, does not change the contractions of your heart, and I don't believe designed for long term use, as it has some side effects.
