Air mixture screw adjustment

Has anybody done any adjustments to their air mixture screws on the throttle bodies? I think I remember someone posting something about that a while back. Any info on this subject would be appreciated.

Harpoon, I wish I could help but I don't remember seeing that. I guess the least I can do is bring it to the top for ya! Awe...don't mention it!

Thanks for the boost BIGZX12R. I've been trying to get the idle and low speed running sorted out. I've got a Muzzy pipe and PCIIIr. It runs strong everywhere else. I think it was Doug Meyers who did a post on those idle mixture screws. I'm not sure. Hopefully I'll have some time today to fool with it some more.

Bypass screws

Set them at 2.5 turns.

All over the map.

I've checked 4 throttle body sets and the screws are all over the place, some even closed completely. Someone I trust on the factory level says this shouldn't be and it would be good to at least start with them all the same before fiddling around. My bike works well with them at 2.5.

Air mixture screws

I spent a couple of hours adjusting these screws and found that it makes little or no difference in the way the bike idles. Doug, You mentioned that the screws were not set the same from the factory. could it be when drilling out the plugs , the drill bit hitting the screw itself and turning it in? I found there were two screws turned all the way in, one set at 3/4 turns out and one 1 turn out. I ended setting them all 1 turn out. Could not tell the difference in the idle setting them between 2 1/2 turns and 1 turn.

I thought that at first, but on subsequent sets I made sure that it was not the case. Nobody said this adjustment would necessarily do anything. It's interrelated with the throttle blade setting. It may be a factor on your bike, maybe not.
