I've been using a Tourmaster TB12 for the last four years. It's the strap-on kind...

The front straps on the bag snap to connectors on a yoke that goes around the steering stem. For the rear connector attachment, I disassembed some of the supplied strapping and tied a strap to the rear subframe just next to the gas tank hinge, and ran this strap under the seat. It exits at the front center of the seat.

The setup works well for me - I've been commuting with it since April of 2000!

Tourmaster TB12 for mine. The blue color matches the blue on my 12, otherwise I would have gotten black.

I did have to get one of the bigger tank pads for under the bag. The Tourmaster rep swapped me at no charge.

The cool thing is, I broke one of the plastic fasteners (it was my fault), and for like 5 bucks, the dealer ordered replacement straps and fasteners so they are hella easy to replace.

If you want, I'll take a pic and post?

billbisby...for what its worth, when I first bought my 12, I HAD to have a tank bag. I never found anything that was made specifically for the 12. I do belive Corbin has some hard-shell beetle bags but I wanted a tank bag.

I looked at everything out there. I wanted a Marsee, but since the 12's tank is NOT magnetic, I was limited in options.

Needless to say, the Tourmaster TB12 is the perfect fit for the bike, is not too big and is not too small. Coming back from Seattle on my last trip, I had to bring back an extra helmet that I didnt go down there with. The TB12 expands upwards and I was able to get the entire helmet in there and all my stuff I packed. Granted it wasnt comfortable, but the bag was stretched beyond its limits at that point. Good bag though, I mean that.
