Puppet Master/Bush Supporters (debate from last night)
Remember when Cheney told people to go to "www.factcheck.com"?
Have you loaded that site yet? If not, do so, it's VERY funny what happens when you do Yes, it's work-safe...it redirects to a "why we must not re-elect George Bush" website!!

I am no liberal. I just sit there and look at Cheney and how much contempt he has for US the little people. Ooh factcheck.org cuase you know everything you read on the internet is true. I can't stop laughing that the Vp of the USA's rebuttle is go to the website and you will see I am telling the truth.
Forget everything I have been quoted as saying or filmed doing cause its a lie, go to factcheck.org and learn the real truth. Yea like the other day when the president called me ya. thats the ticket. He is a good liar though, he don't even blink an eye. Good Liar = Good Politician
Here's a quote from USA today from last night.
"Edwards accused Cheney of falsely suggesting a link between Iraq and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Cheney denied doing so.
"The senator has got his facts wrong," Cheney said. "I have not suggested there's a connection between Iraq and 9/11, but there's clearly an established Iraqi track record with terror.""
Here's the New York Times on June 18
"President Bush and Vice President Cheney said yesterday that they remain convinced that Saddam Hussein's government had a long history of ties to Al Qaeda, a day after the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks reported that its review of classified intelligence found no evidence of a "collaborative relationship" that linked Iraq to the terrorist organization."
This guy thinks that we are some dumb mofo's that will believe whatever he says, no shame whatsoever. He's right he got elected didn't he. Sort of.
I thought it was funny how Cheny talked about litigation and court cases-I bet he doesn't have any objection to the one that gifted him the job.

I think Cheney came across better as the Wise Old Man to Edwards smiling Politico. I'm sure Cheney did better with those not aware of the facts.
Of course I very quickly came to the realization watching the VP debate that Bush looked like a petulant child compared to Cheney.
As for Edwards I was not that impressed. When Cheney went after his Senate record instead of answering the charge he started reciting cheney's record of not voting for Head Start etc. as if two wrongs make a right. That was lame.
That is not to say Edwards didn't score a few big hits. My favorite was...
quote: EDWARDS: They had a choice on allowing prescription drugs into this country from Canada, of being with the American people or with the drug companies.
They were with the drug companies.
They had a choice on negotiating discounts in the Medicare prescription drug bill of being with the American people or with the drug companies. They were with the drug companies.
They had a choice on the patients' bill of rights, allowing people to make their own health care decisions and not having insurance companies make them, be with the American people, be with the big insurance companies.
They're with the insurance companies.

OK, we need to talk. 1st off, our friendship has NOTHING to do with politics, you are my brother, period.
As far as your statement about Cheney, he is not running things, GW is, clearly he is. To say he is a dumb puppet completely underestimates him and remind me of the Democrats that swore Reagan was dumb as rocks, but low and behold he was smart enough to end the cold war. Underestimating people and categorizing them because of the will of others is not only misguided, but foolish. To consider another dumb because they don't hold your values or your agenda is also foolish. I would never call Kerry dumb or Edwards, they are both extremely smart men, but I disagree with them, which is why I won't vote for them. So lets stop that "dumb" rhetoric now, it puts you, Tony, in the same static of the kooks, and I know you are not one.
I would love to have a serious discussion with you about the election, one that is intellegent where we can both admit the truth about each sides positions and what it means for our country, our family and our finances. I had a conversation like this a few days ago with another friend who is a Democrat, we have been friends for 25 years. We agreed that there would be no slamming, no sarcasm, no spin, just honest talk. It was quite enlightening for the both of us. He tried to persuade me that Kerry was the better choice and HIS reasons why, and I did the same for GW. No offense to him, but I was better prepared for it and he found himself caught. He told me the next day that after stopped thinking just the one track, he learned alot. I didn't ask him if he changed his vote, to be honest I don't care, I was just happy to be able to make my points in a conversation not filled with "BUSH IS JUST STUPID, HE WENT TO WAR FOR OIL, HE LIED PEOPLE DIED, HE DID IT ALL FOR HALLIBURTON" I can't even have an intellegent conversation with someone when that's what they stick too.

I thought both of them did well and that Chenney did a "LOT" Better than Bush. I called it a draw until I saw that different pieces where Chenney was either talking to Edwards, standing next to him all at the Capitol and Meet the press.
Of course I knew he was telling a lie when he said that he had never said that there was a connection with Alquida and of course that was also shown from several different stations.
So for only those reasons, I now have given the nod to Edwards, but also Chenney being so in command of the facts looks a lot more "Presendential" than Bush which leads to who is Pulling whos strings?

I thought they both did well in the debate, I actually thought it was more of a draw than a clear win on either side. Both of them threw whoppers out there, Edwards saying millionaires sitting by their pool were paying a lower tax rate than the men in combat. My jaw dropped at that one, one of a few. My problems with Edwards is his past. My company's malpractice insurance for my doctors has gone from $30K a year to $335K a year. Now some of that is 9/11 but most of it is insurers fears of lawsuits based on past cases/settlements, their risk analysis data would blow your mind if you saw the weight put on it. And don't try to say it's a small portion, I have spoken with the CEO's of major carriers, along with a VP with Lloyds of London, who have confirmed this. Edwards being beholden to Trail lawyers is unnerving.

What else are they going to say? We lost our shirts because we over invested in a stock market market bubble that tanked and now we are making up the difference off the backs of our policy holders. Especially those with the deepest pockets, Doctors.
What do you think Insurance companies do with all our premiums? Stick it in a giant vault somewhere till they have to pay out a claim? No, they invest it in the market? That is how they make the majority of their profits.
When St. Paul Insurance Co. one of the major medical malpractice insurers, announced it was getting out of the business, it claimed growing malpractice verdicts were the problem. The company conveniently failed to mention that its economic hardship was really caused by poor investments. They lost over 108 million on the Enron collapse alone.
If you check your history you will find that the last time the Republicans jumped on this band wagon was 1986, after the last major market downturn.
If my theory is correct then you would expect market competition to drive down premiums during market upturns. Well according to the 2000 edition of the Statistical Abstract of the United States , doctors in 1997 paid 25 percent less of their average annual incomes for malpractice insurance than they did in 1985.
And as an additional proof California has state caps on Medical Insurance awards. So of course they should have lower malpractice premiums right?
Wrong. California doctors actually pay 20% more than the national average.
Because of Enron, Tyco, Worldcom et al the market lost over 7 TRILLION dollars in value. How much of that did the insurance companies have to eat. Ask your CEOs that.

Good point Ridge! I agree with most of that - although I will have to say that malpractice IS an additional problem. It may not be the biggest problem but I believe it is a large problem. BTW, not that there is any corrilation (there really is very little correlation) but Enron, Tyco and Worldcom were all products of the 90's "boom" economy... run under democratic hands. People are quick to say that the US lost XXX jobs under Bush etc etc, but the reality is that Bush enherited a shit storm from the years of careless/carefree spending. I don't blame Clinton - but you can't blame Bush either. I DO think that Bush is attempting to put in some good controls to get back on track though!

Otis and others, please understand that when you speak against the Higher Mal-Pratice it is Not the Attorneys, but the AMA and the Doctors that brough and bring this on themselves!
Remember I am also a victim of this problem. The problem is that "Professional Courtesy" and the Code of Ethics is the problem.
In short if you do not remember my case, i got a broken leg because of a person I was passing on the right while they were turning left (After we both had stopped. As the person started turning left I started past and he changed his mind.
When I get to the hospital, the Doctors "Tell" me how it is going to be fixed and that is that. I ask them about fixing it another way and the Doctor states that I am Pro-Active and he can do this and walks out.
#1, the doctor used the wrong prep for a 2 site operation (Blood deactivates what he used and he should have know this or used a better prep. This right here caused me to be infected on the day of the operation)
#2, When my leg turned dark black (like it was dead and it was dying) he told me it was poor circulation. I went to another doctor and founf I had a staff infection and he never checked
#3, He was to remove "ALL" of the Hardware and when he operated, he took no x-rays in with him to see where everything was and took none after to make sure he got them all. (He left a pin on the top and Bottom)
#4, When he fopund that he had made this mistake, instaed of removing them right then, he took a wait and see attitude (The man that told me they all must be removed or the infection would not go away.
#5, When my leg broke again and my Bones were rotting inside my skin, I left him and went to a new doctor who removed the screws. The day of the major operation to start my recovery the consent to operate form had this very same doctors name as the #1 person that was going to operate. WHen I refused to allow him to operate, the other doctor threw me out of the hospital with a rotting leg and a tube in my chest to give myself "Vancomycin" the strongest they have.
#6, When I tried to get another doctor in DC, they all said the same thing that I had to go back to this guy because it would be un ethical for them to operate on another doctor's Patient. ( Finally found a doctor in Baltimore) and Because of this I had to go through 6 more operations and walk on critches for 3 years while I tried to regrow the "Two" Inches of Bone and muscle they had to remove to save me.
I died twice and was brought back and had to walk on crutches for three years. because of a bad doctor that has a large pratice and is operating today right now. If not for two attorneys and me borrowing against everything I own to pay for the experts and costs so far, this would not have gone to court. SO please do not speak against all Attorneys!
Otis, if this had happened to you (The studies that we have done show that most ikely it would not because (I know that you do not want to hear this but it is the turth) that 2 people that have the same level of schooling, money and insurance that if one of them is Black, that he will have a worse outcome and poorer service in 70% of the cases than the White Man.

Oh hell yeah, I had a great day today. I got to oppress 4 black folks. Yesterday wasn't so good. I searched and searched and I could only find one poor black man to beat down. Hell, its got to the point where I can't even work anymore - Im too busy looking for black folks to subjugate to get anything done. I might just have to go on welfare.
