There was a Fire Last Night!

A friend of mine called me at 11 PM that his bike (79 Kz 1000 LTD) broke down last night and I went to pick him up and take him home. When I came back to my house I could not get down either street! I live in a Row House (Attached on both sides)I found that my next door neighbor's house was GUTTED and the entire street was out and they were in my house checking the walls. Not as much smoke as you would think, but Thank God that we had no real problems. The owner of the house is an old lady about 80 and they had to take her away and condemmed the house. I put a not on her door for the mail man and gave her my card so she could know when she got mail! TOO MUCH!

Wow, Vinny. Glad your house didn't catch as well.

Nice of you to watch over her, though.

Thanks Fellas, This was as close as i want it to be ! You may also know that the DC Area has a fire Bug that has set over 40 fires and Killed several people over the last few years. Last, if you have ever smelled a burned out house, you never forget that smell. I hope to never smell it again! Harry, the Small piece of trash land my place sits on (About 16 by 80 feet) is worth (without House) about $125,000.00. They are selling (Now that the Rich White people are moving in and raising out tax values ) these POS Houses for as much as $375.00 for a 1200 Sq Foot House! In Toledo, I cannot sell my Mother's House 2,500 Sq Feet on 1 Acre for $160,000!

Harry, I just don't see how you sticking a double ended dildo in your ass will fight a fire....

Unless you sprang for the 'upgrade' model that squirts.

Oh, and in Little Rock once you get over $100 a square foot you's in 'rich people' neighborhood.

vincent i know of the smell you speak of, and it truly sucks

what sucks worse is sifting through trying to find anything salvageable.

then to find no insurance coverage existed.....

anyway glad yours didn't go up, time to get the outside re-painted though..with fire retardant paint....

Know what you mean by the smell, my house went up last fall, the fire was mostly contained to one room but the whole house had to be gutted right to the frame and rebuilt and everything replaced, you can't get that smell out of stuff, I am still sifting through papers and stuff they saved for me to go through to photocopy important ones, almost a year later and they still smell horribly, thankfully my garage is detached so it was fine just had to repaint the outside.

It is crazy but true, the only important "THINGS" is a house are the "Living" things (People and Pets) #1, "PAPERS" #2 and "Pictures #3! EVERYTHING ELSE Can be replaced! But without the Papers, you cannot get the money (Easily) to do what you need (Like taxes and Insurance) and a Picture is something that you cannot duplicate the Event, Time or place! (Specially when the person is now dead!)
