Muzzys and Dynojet -- Problem Solved
When my Power Commander went out I called Dynojet, but it was a 18 months old so it Muzzys said for me to buy another one, the odds of having two go bad is very slim. I guess Muzzys does not mind me spending

Kangpow.... obviously you take no for answer so here's some advice.
Muzzy only sells the PCs like any other retail item. You ALWAYS go to the source or manufacturer.
Talk directly with DJ and send it back to them.
Even at the worst case scenario... you might have paid a $50 repair/shipping fee.

This has nothing to do with Muzzys and everything to do with an expired warranty on a product from Dynojet.
Don't bag on a retailer or company that sells you a product that actually lasts longer than the manufacturer's warranty. It didn't come with a lifetime guarantee.
Send it back to DynoJet with a letter, it's likely they will repair or replace it for a nominal charge.

I was not talking bad about Muzzys, I was stating what they told me ( ext 107 ). Which I think was a messed up statement. I paid $399.00 for the PC3r from Muzzys.

Very little actually. Our sales rep essentially told you the truth but you did not like what you heard. I'll repeat it so there's no confusion. Products that we do not manufacture are covered by the maker's warranty policy. In the event of a problem we will always suggest that you call them and discuss the problem. Repair or replacement is always at their discretion in keeping with their warranty policy. (This also works in the other "direction" when a seller of our products refers a problem to us.) If you had told our rep that you had done this and met with no relief, he could do nothing else but offer to sell you another. Power Commanders do not have anything aproaching a high failure rate, but of course if it's yours that fails, that's all that matters and we understand that. Unfortunately it is the manufacturer that is responsible to make amends.

I agree with what you say, but after spending $399.00 for 18 months of use wouldn't you want to vent a little !!!! Not hear how lucky I am my last PC3 did not go bad. I talked to Dynojet today, they are going to get back to me tomorrow with there decision.

Practice what you preach..........!!! I know first hand that you do NOT...
I tried to contact Muzzy's when i purchased a billet basket and your rep/dealer would not return my core deposit. I contacted your company and Muzzy's refered me back to the rep/dealer and said that it was my problem between me and the rep. I stated to Muzzy's that they was holding my deposit as I still had the OEM basket. I was willing to send it to them with the reference order showing that the money had not been given to the rep/dealer. They still refered me back to the rep saying that i did not buy it from them so they were not responsible for the core deposit! My point is that what is being said about what they will do is simply words........I still have my OEM basket!

Kangpow,
Of Course you're entitled to "vent". No problem with the venting- but the solution had to rest with Dynojet.
Ra,
I THINK I understand what you're talking about. Correct me if not, but what I see is that you purchased a billet basket from a DEALER. You paid your core charge to THE DEALER. The DEALER purchased a basket FOR YOU from US. HE sent US the money. At that point WE OWED HIM the core charge (which he had probably collected from you). As soon as THE DEALER sent us the core WE would REFUND HIM the core charge.
What has to be kept in mind here is in this transaction The dealer is our customer. All the money went back and forth between him and us. We couldn't send the money to you because we owed it to him. He owed it to you.
Is this not correct? If so, we should have a core charge due the dealer on file and if he sends us the basket he will get it. HE owes you the money, not us.

Problem Solved
I stopped by the motorcycle shop where I bought my last 3 bikes. I told the guy who runs the shop about my PC3R, so he called Dynojet and they are going to fix it for free. All I have to pay is shipping.
Now that is customer service.

You are basically correct. I paid a purchase and core charge in advance of an order via YOUR dealer. I recieved my order and then YOUR dealer refused to pay me my core charge back when I delivered the core to YOUR dealer. Stating he was not refunding my core charge because he sent it (core charge)to Muzzy's. Then stated that since he did not have the core charge, he was not going to take my core. That turned into Muzzy's refusing to accept the core directly even though I could provide the order reference numbers as proof. I was directed by Muzzy's to YOUR dealer who directed me back to Muzzy's. I treated rudely by some @#! named Kurt. Everyone REFUSED to take my core and Muzzy's retained my core charge. Rather than Muzzy's putting pressure on YOUR dealer, I was told by Muzzy's and YOUR dealer to do whatever I had to do......
Kangpow is YOUR customer not dynojets. As you stated, all the money was exchanged between him and you(if I am correct). He was coming to Muzzy's for service. When I buy a product from Home Depot, let's say a Black and Decker drill. I can return it and exchange it at Home Depot cause I bought it from them. No drama, and they then make Black & Decker do right by their product. This gives Home Depot a great repretation for further purchases or they drop Black & Decker. The customer is the primary concern.
My point is that you were so quick to hold dynojet responsible for something that really should be simply exchanged. I agree that dynojet ultimately would have to fix it anyway. But Muzzy could easily facilitate that repair or exchange seeing that customer service is SUPPOSED to be a priority. But when the tides are reversed don't give a presentation that your company does any different regarding not taking responsiblity vs just our money.

a large retailer like home depot has clout.
a small dealer has none....
HD willtake that black & decker drill, and they can make the manufacturer warrant it MUCh easier than jim bob's tool shack.
much the same, Muzzy's may not have the same clout to make dynojet sit up and listen. or they don't "know" someone there, to make things happen. that 'other' dealer may have connections (know someone etc) and can make those things happen. Or they are a large dealer, who happens to own a larger dynojet product (dyno maybe?) that has more buying power than a smaller 3-4 man operation....
RA: your dealer was screwing you over. period. it is NOT muzzy's fault the dealer refused to do his job. his CONTRACT when selling that particular part calls for a core exchange. that part MUST be returned to muzzy'sbefore muzzy's will refund that core charge. Otherwise someone gets caught holding the bag. Muzzy's needs the cores to continue production of that particular product. If they sell the part to dealer with OUT the core charge, and dealer forgets to send core in, or loses it, or sells it, then Muzzy's is out the core, and cannot build another part.
the dealler's refusal to refund you the core charge is HIS problem, not Muzzy's
the ONLY recourse Muzzy's has is to NOT do business with that dealer any more. if the dealer refuses to abide by their contract terms, THEY are at fault...
your problem is with the dealer, yet youback it all the way to manufacturer.....
Kangpow: YOUR problem is not a dealer related issue, but a manufacturer issue.
i don't expect sam's club to repair my TV set i bought there. they sold it...they do NOT warrant it. Toshiba is responsible to repair it if it fails under warranty.
If my local sam's club person happens to know someone at toshiba america, perhaps they can wrangle a deal to get it done, but it is still at my and toshiba's expense.
Muzzy's obviously had no real way to get dynojet to warrant the part. perhaps they have tried to do something like that in the past and it didn't work out. you just assume the worst because you're mad...
that dealer, on the other hand, may have those essential contacts that make things go more easily....and got results because of that.....
but yeh it is much easier to gang-rape muzzy's on the internet....
PS i am not affiliated with any of the mentioned organizations, nor do i even own a Muzzy's product....just in case anyone wants to be pissy about this post.
it's just sad that some people will never be satisfied unless they get their own way, regardless of whether their way is RIGHT or not...
