It's ALIVE!! & Not too late!

See Last Post!

I got my last parts (Second time) at 10 AM Thursday and tried to get it done in 36 Hours. I started the Bike at 7:15 Pm today and it ran very well with no noises. There is simply too little time to break it in and tune it on the Dyno and still drive to Maxton! After All, I am in my 60's and working 24 / 7 is more than I want to deal with. I even remember now why I really stopped Road Racing.

VH:
Very good decision; no sense rushing to the track after an extensive build. there's ALWAYS something which needs tweaking.

Why not take a few days off and come down to the Texas Mile like JC says. We'll take care of you you!

Johnny, I "KNOW" you are not kidding, but I really am too old for this much work! But I now have the time to color code some wiring (NOS COntroller, Retard, Power and Heat Switches, 100% Switch and the NOS & Fuel shower heads) and carefully break it in and tune it! Then make the last of October Maxton. I then "Have" to turn around and go to Gainesville where the Good Graces of Bear Racing will have some big doings once I get there! (Did I mention one weekend in Ohio up and back?)

U Da Man Johnny! Tomorrow, after a few hours of work on that rag of mine, I plan to take a ride between 50 and 100 miles with Randall. He borrowed a friends 04 R-1 and maybe I can enjoy it a "Little" while breaking it in? I do not want to get more than 200 miles (100 Min) with that Junl ND-30 Oil and then put in the Honda Motorcycle Dino Oil for a few hundred miles and some Dyno time!

"NOW"!! That I finally have a little time, I am going to color code all of the wires so when the "NEXT" emergency occurs at least I will not have to take any time to "THINK" about how it is wired

I had the bike on the Dyno today. (A little scare Before leaving the house, the Bike would not start! A lose connection to the Retard)

My Hope with the almost 1.5 points lower Compression that the Bike would make 170 HP! It made right at 169 with non Oxygenated fuel so I was close!

It took a while to dial in the Motor Only part but when it came time to spray, really bad! Made 181 HP and about 9 to 1 air fuel. (FOr those that do not know, the last time in October, I could get no fuel and had spray only.) This time the same problem in reverse. So Much for trying to use an NOS Fogger as opposed to and NX. So tomorrow, I am having Nitro Dave send me overnight 4 NX Foggers and I give up on this expierment!

Turning off the fuel Pump and changing the retard, I finally got close to 225 HP, but way too rich. So I now have to change the Retard to take the signal from the Button because it is taking the signal from the 100% Switch which also means that it is retarding the Motor Only part of the run. I am learning a lot more than I wanted to know about NOS and the different systems.

ALso the Good news is Nothing Blew up and the engine is actually running real well. So tomorrow I will change the Timing retard and Controller around and Thursday I will install the NX Foggers, Then Friday morning go back and see if it is resolved. (Did I mention that I just got a small Muffler that Hindle made to fit the pipe I had welded up so that the Noise is reduced and a little more Midrange?)

That sucks Vincent. I sure hope you can get it dialed up to 300rwhp before Maxton, that is what you will need for your goal of 220 mph. With 225rwhp you should still see 205+ mph this weekend.

I "JUST" got the parts in. Longer NX Foggers (Now the same system), NOS Filter, Fuel Pump pressure switch (Cut the system off if the pump fails) and last but not least Larger NOS Solenoid. Just to make sure I have "ALL" of the Spray I need. (I seem to have a lot more fuel than I need "right now")

Tonight A Little Work and tomorrow some more testing and then What ever I can "Safely run (Watching the EGT Meter) that is what I am taking to Maxton!

Do the Initials D.B.S. Ring a Bell!

After taking a little break tonight about 9 PM I am going out to change the Injectors and solenoid, then install the Fuel Pressure Switch and last but not least change the Retard to Button Activation (vs 100% Micro Switch) then go back to bed. Tomorrow I must finish the 10# Bottle Warmer wiring so I can hook it directly to the Battery of the Van. Last Night I put the Special muffler Hindle made to fit the Bike (it is a Tight fit, close to the tire and maybe 1 depression to clear the rear Fairing)

Not too much to do, but it is wearing this Old Man Out!

Latest is, I worked on the Bike from 10 PM to "7" Am to get it finished to the point of set up.

The Bike is still not doing what I want and still too fuel rich, but at least it is now making between 240 and 260 HP and if I am careful with the fuel timerm maybe 275 HP. I am taking a break and hope to have the bike together and the Van Packed and leave by Midnight tonight. Drive 400 miles and make a few runs
