DoTsTeR's 12 runs again... (Before & After Pics)

1st off, I'd like to say hello to all the board members that remember me and the new ones as well. I am an old member who left long ago and is now back.

Its been 10 months since I blew the engine...

After tons of work the 2000 12 is running awesome... I also changed the color to 2001 silver, polished the swingarm, cleaned everything, painted the engine covers, changed the windshield, flush mounts up front, and a ton of other random things.

I got sorta sick of the 2000 green and truthfully the bike has gotten more comments than ever as silver.. just looks so much more high tech / classy now

I really feel like I got a new bike... all the hard work paid off.
Most people think I did get a new one.

before

After (Missing front fender and air fins at the moment)

I still have a few things to do and I havent decided if I am going to take the decals and kawasaki tank letters off yet...

I also have the oem silver air fins new in the bags but cant find them at the moment... arggg

And of course different rear signals and a real exhaust system when I can afford it

And a fender will be on it shortly... modified of course

(( THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED ME ))

3 different guys that all sent me some stock intake stacks at no charge cause I needed some to get the bike running..

so, last night I carved up the ugly stock fender
I seriously did it as fast as I could (had to go riding) and spent like 25 minutes total on it

check out the results... I dont even see any reason to worry about painting it

Tools Used:

Thin pin striping to randomly make an outline to cut on one side only..

Dremel with random round cutting blade..
Orbital Sander..

Once I cut one side by following my pin striping..
I then made a crappy template with a piece of paper..
I cut that out and taped it to the other side...
Then drew on the fender where to cut..

Once it was all cut I used the sander on it and basically eyeballed it to perfection

It was one of the quickest and easiest mods I ever did to my 12 and it came out better than I thought it would
