about people from .org that are here
I'm confused. Why don't people like Luckycharm and others who hate fish and this site go somewhere else and play? If this site is so bad and the OTHER site so good then just hang out there and leave us alone.
Fish, I know you don't want to start editing or banning people but you and freek and maybe even the moderators need to sit down and figure something out. If not, this site is going to spiral down to garbage land. I know it's just my opinion but the truth is alot of people I think feel the same way.

It was just pointed out to me that my post above was vague and made it sound like I was saying that all people from .org are bringing this site down. This is not what I was trying to say. I'm sure there are plenty of good people on that site and a few probably frequent here also. What I was trying to say was the ones who don't like this site or have a beef with the owners or moderators here (and they know who they are) should just go play somewhere else. That's all, just take your ball and go home.

It's comments like that that makes me wonder if the complaints and gripings from the .org people who are now on this board might be telling some truth. Just wondering.

I'm here and there from time to time everyday. I don't post alot try to keep out of others business. But there is good and bad on both boards. But you will find that anywhere.

This is a well run board. The admins don't delete much and let the board essentially run itself. Which it does. Very rarely does something degenerate and when it does it is only because a portion of the members are involved. How you gonna stop that? We all engage in lowest common denominator behavior now and again right? I am not sure what you are saying DB and I don't know if it is my place but it seems that the philosophy that this board runs on works really well. There is always going to be some of the thing you are refering to on all boards. But once you start banning and deleting what kind of open forum is that?

I just stop by occasionally, and usually only to read, but I think this site is really friendly and I don't see any bitching except the good-natured "bite me" type stuff from friends. What's the big deal?

What complaints could they possibly have about this site? We dont censor, ban or delete? Man... that would be something to complain about

...this is what I think: Sometimes some of the shit that goes around here between admin, mods, members, and members from the 'other boards' is like the news reporters being the news instead of reporting the news...its like 'sweeps week' on TV...ratings increase...how to increase the number of viewers with psuedo-drama-schtick...like the drama in front of the camera between Paul and Paul show of AmericanChoppers...is it real?...is it canned?...y'know what I mean?....
(I just realized that I said something about TV and I don't even have a TV! ...but I sneak a peek once in a while at work or at friends' houses and I remember how I used to watch it alot  )

real..,.. that's what makes it hard.. many members think a lot of it is entertainment and like to stir it up... the topic which came up most recently was certainly very real for very real people who build and operate both this site and LAbusas

A reality show based on internet interactions between board members.
So how do we describe the viewers: lame-asses who watch other lame-asses interact with other lame-asses in cyberspace - but on TV. Then if there's a "Talk Soup" kind of show that digests reality shows - HOLY SHIT!
How many layers of abstraction is there on THAT one! So would that be meta-meta-meta data?

I like this site a lot, while I dont post too often, I really like coming around and see . I find a lot of technical support with out even asking, all i have to do is look at the posts. I noticed a lot of people with different opinions but I think its none of my business. Most of the posts I see are 99% friendly and technical. The other 1% is about upcoming bikes and sneak pics,, that is my opinion, . Keep up the good work and keep the site the way its supposed to be, fun and technical. Jesus R

zxfingyz, not sure if that was a serious question or not, but if it was, that onyl really applies to commercial sites (we're doing this for fun, not to make a living), and even that isn't true like it was 5 years ago. That only works when you're selling per-impression advertising, which is a practice i just dont see much anymore as the 90s showed us that it was ineffective.

In the bikeland side, I could moderate and purge the negative babble that goes on, but then their are those that choose to read and respond to it. My feelings are simply: open and read the thread if you choose to, but it is your choice.
While on some occassion I might take a gander at one of those threads, I refuse to post in them. With what little time I manage, it just seems unproductive to spend a lot of time in those threads.
I do agree with you DB, but I dont know of any real solution. I always figure things could be worse, and I dont feel it will ever go away completely.
Since joining bikeland in 2002, I've seen a lot of the same topics be recycled over and over again. New members asking old questions, but I was once there also, and I learned a lot. But my passion for motorcycles never quit growing, for it has just branched out into other areas of related interest. I still have a ton to learn compared to some of the experienced people on this board, and so I read what I can.
My only gripe with this site...I really would like some sort of bikeland.org decals to throw on the bike. I know, I know...I'm beatin' a dead horse...

Also some that create choas and have no other contribution but choas. And when they see a trickle of blood they pounce on it.
I have chosen to ignore neg posts from this point forward and desire only to be a productive member of Bikeland, And to contribute favorable. And which also means I will be heard from less. I will post only when it may be productive for fellow members.
I desire only postive feelings when I visit forum.
I also agree it is up to each member what they read or post. That being said. I would never condone banning deleting or other ways to alienate a member.

This is just the internet,
I have met wonderfull folks and folks who werded me out. One just became a cop on the other forum, For some its a bussiness, for some its some conversation in there otherwise boring lives, Boring jobs with there boring wives and children fighting and saying give me give give me.
For me it was entertaiment and conversation with like minded folk, Something to do while the wife watched her sitcoms. I hate TV. I cant stand to hear the damn thing. Unless theres a motorcycle race on.
I would much rather sit on my porch with my dog and hear a Big Bore Kaw going though the gears in the valley below my home.
Its the internet. Do you want to censor this forum of adults?
