Is this forum for serious riders?
I'm looking to be an active member of just one forum.
I won't try to bring down any other forums, so I'm not getting into why I'm moving.
I ride a 12, and I ride hard. Yes, I run most of the time
when I see the blues go on. I can offer a ton or technical
experience, and will try to help others out when they ask
for my help.
I'm looking to hang where I don't have a cop flaming me
in every post, and I don't want to deal with punk kids that
have never even ridden a bike before. And worse, i don't want to post an upcoming ride only to have some cop set us all up for getting busted when we're out in the middle of nowhere bothering no one else.
So right up front, what's this place like? If it's loaded
cops and punks, I'll pass...
Any comments???

Maybe you should check out a Deals Gap thread.... or two. Maybe an event.

I used to live in South Florida... and spent one weekend a month at the
Gap for many years... but I moved to Arizona about a year ago...

I don't know if a forum that has participants representing...
many of the major manufacturers of aftermarket products for the 12R, including Muzzy's (Rob Muzzy and Doug Meyer), Jardine (Kerry Bryant)...
retailers of those and many more product (Doug @ Spencer Cycle)...
individuals who custom manufacture parts fro the 12R (Dino)...
input from KMC itself (extremelean)...
not to mention those that have ran the 12R at dragstrips, road courses, open track days, Maxton and Bonneville...
... would count as a "serious" forum, but all of that can be found here and more.
Our archives go back to 10/01 when the forum started. That's not to say that the close to 7,800 topics on this forum are all "serious", but you can do a search on just about any aspect of the 12R and find what you need here.
As for "punks" and "cops", both are kinda subjective names and as for "punks", well that could apply to many here and then again it really wouldn't apply to anyone one here. There are a couple of folks here that are employed in law enforcement, but when it comes to bikes, only the terminally stupid need worry about it.
If you wish to discuss your fleeing experience, some might disagree with you, but lively debate is welcomed here... as long as it does not get "personal" (beyond calling someone an "idiot").
I do here that the moderator of this forum is a dickhead and rides so slow that he'd get smoked by a babe on a EX 250R. If anyone is a "punk", he'd be the one!

...running is bad, very bad...and getting caught will make it even worse...for you  , so I'm realisitc about why people run from the cops and I'm realistic about why cops want to catch runners like you...its a mad circle...
...you're a grown man (mid-40's, right?)....deal with it when it comes...but try to remember, if you can, to do no harm to others while you're running...
...I know that most responsible cops think of (that) while they're pursuing (that's why we terminate more puruits than maintain, but it never makes the revenue generating news), while the pursued, on the other hand, selfishly thinks of nothing but getting away irregardless of who or what he/she might hit...it pisses everybody off, not just the cops...trust me on that one

Looks like the same thing over here... oh well, I didn't buy a 12 to ride
around at 60mph... and at 150+ you get stopped you go to jail... no thanks.
I guess it's best I ride alone or with just one other.
I'm also lucky that in Arizona we have a lot of open space to run hard...
Why do you guys own fast bikes if you all ride like pussies???
I guess I wore out my welcome here... but there has to be a board where

Seriously, I'm not trying to flame anyone here... I'm simply looking
for a forum where the guys ride real hard... really hard core, balls to the
walls riders... that's how I ride and who I can relate to...

LOL.. dude you really must be joking!! or are you just trying to stir the pot? this site is the best site on the Web to share and Learn and talk shit about 12's you will ever find. there are alot of definitions of riding hard, top end, Drag racing, Road Racing, or just Street riding. almost all of the hardest riders in the world on a 12 hang out on this web site. don't jump to conclusions read what everyone has written, do a search on a couple of subjects and you will see this is the place to talk and hook up and ride!

LOL at you too... my idea of riding hard is not at a dragstrip...
it is not going on a 1000 mile trip on a GoldWing
I ride hard on the street, I'll line up against anyone at a red light, yes, I
run from the cops when the situation is right, (good fuel, know the area, etc). I'm everything that gives sportbikes a bad name.
No apologies, that's how I ride. And if I ride with a friend, that's how he
rides too. I'm not looking for a site where everyone is a member of
"You meet the nicest people on a Honda".
Hard core street racing, drag and places like Deal's Gap... that's what I live
for... do you know of any forums that cater to guys like that...
There's some for stunters... but that's not my deal...

Did that in Florida... Chanpionship Cup Series...got tired of waiting all day just to get to run 2 7 lap races... very boring. Tracks were setup that you could barely get out of 3rd gear... again boring. Whet up to Wyoming a few weeks ago for a rally with another group, and we did all day runs flat out...GPS in the 180s and up... now that was fun.

...maybe you should start a site of your own then...why not?...and be the 'master of your domain' as it pertains to techniques and venues of illegal high-speed street racing and the many sordid adventures of running from the cops (with my apologies, of couse, to that 'Seinfeld' episode )
