FASTER!....(not)

...heh heh...I just watched FASTER...and I was awake through the whole thing, too ...and now that I've watched it, I'm even more S-L-O-W-E-R than I thought I was ....man, those guys have something I'll never have...simply incredible...'humbled' doesn't even begin to describe my feelings...

I loved that movie, but I will tell you what showed me just how slow I am....I was out on the track a few months ago on my 6RR, and got passed in mid corner by a 17 year old kid out just fukn around.....I was busting my ass to turn 1:23's on the trak and he is cruising and clicking off 1:18's....and then when he decided to pick it up he started clicking of 1:16's......its just sick, a kid shouldnt be that fast.....lol

Yeah worm , none of us are about shit when compared to those guys. Got a few on here that think they are fast. They are legends in their own minds.I know I'm slow but go as fast as I can (on the race track of course).

Only takes a few good hits to the head to make a mess of things. I'm in permanent "Steve Young Syndrome" mode here & always wear the lid. Even if just trotting down to the store...

It happens to them at some point too. That part where Kevin Schwantz talked about going back out and noticing things he had never seen before... like the guard rails.

Guess I really am slow......its ok, as long as I can enjoy myself and have a good time that is all that matters...Right now I need my 12 to do that....later it will prolly be a Gold wing parked next to the 12 instead of the 6RR.......lol

It's all good.....

Just as long as you're having fun guys. We all have our good days and our bad days I guess. I went for a nice ride yesterday and behaved at times, and at other times acted like a goddamned heathen. Really stretched the bike out for about a 10 mile banzai run on a pretty much empty (& fairly straight) section of interstate. Big Mike said, and I quote "Boy,...you know you don't need to be doin' that shit". LOL He's right I don't, for safety reasons, and the fact that I couldn't even attempt to pay the fines that little run would've cost me.

But in all honesty things were just clicking and feeling good to me yesterday. Ya know what I mean??? Bike was running awesome and my confidence level was higher than it's been in quite sometime. I haven't ridden much at all since DGVII, and yesterday's ride was the shot in the arm I needed. FOOKIN' KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we can make a movie - SLOWER the story of not really fast guys that start to get slower in their old age.

The movie starts out on an air matress on the floor of a cabin kitchen somewhere in Tennessee. It looks like dawn, or it could be about noon, it's hard to tell in the mountain fog The rider gets up and stumbles to the bathroom to the bathroom weaving between empty beer cans and Cheetos bag.

Then the commentator starts.... (play the beginning of the movie and insert these words instead)

The party never ends, a week after the last DG event in late May the rednecks are out training for the fall event. Beer after beer, head down in the toilet in the corner, stumbling around trying to walk in a straight line, looking for a little extra weed... they're crazy, they're going to kill themselves, well maybe, but what about the buzz, the smack talk, and blowing all that money, in fact since 2001 none of the riders has ever died at the Gap, unless you count the future ones Bart wiped off his bedroom floor, he was using Formula 409 at the time. But they all survived their motorcycle party careers, how do they do it, why do they do it, week in, week out, riding and drinking and riding and smoking and always slower, and slower, and slower.

Scene changes to Harry sitting in a go cart, he says in a Italian/redneck accent "In the beginning when you trying the first time a Gap event.... uh faaak."

You gotta have the movie and have been to DG to understand.......

So instead of the two race mechanics talking bout Rossi, Biaggi and McCoy, you have the mullet brothers in a 53 chevy pickup with no muffler shouting at each other bout *insert name here, but one of them better be McCoy* and talking smack bout them.

I agree with swft, that's some funny stuff, keep it coming and I'm sure worm could add his special twists to the story.

Speaking of getting older. A few weeks ago when I was out on the long ride with a bunch of other riders the oldest guy (mid 60s) asked if he could try my 12 because he never got the chance to try one. I said sure, don't mind riding his Busa, could be fun. Well the rest of the group is ahead and I'm next to last and Steven (the older gentleman) is last. I'm watching him in the mirror and he's way back there, and I'm thinking maybe he's not very comfortable on it, when all of a sudden I see the front light go up in the air. He's back there doing 60 mph wheelies . We pull into a rest area and he comes up to me with this gigantic smile and says "Damn that thing wheelies really nicely" thanks. Hope I'm like that when I get older. Oh and I just found out the other day that he has an 800ft long paved driveway that him and his kid call the runway. I guess it's covered with burnouts where they pracitice their tricks .
