TPS adjustment???
I need to take my TPS off my stock TB's and put it on the 48mm TB's.
I've got the tamperproof driver and a digital VOM, but don't know how to set up the adjustment of the TPS.
Any quick and dirty hints?
BTW: yes, i do have a manual, but tips I get here are often more useful than the manual

Entropy,
Use small diameter paper clips (straighten at least part of them) to insert beside the wires at the TPS connector. You can sneak the paper clips past the weatherproof seals and then bottom them against the connector. Hook some aligator clips to the paper clips (ensure there is no contact between them) and rotate and adjust the sensor until the correct voltage is achieved. My "A" model bike uses terminals A and B for measuring TPS voltage (if I remember correctly) . Also make sure you reset your open and closed position on your power commander, unless you were able to get the sensor back to the exact spot you had it at before. It is in your best interest to get the sensor back to where you had it before....I had to remove mine recently and put it back to OEM spec(1.07 v)....and realized that the sensor had obviously not been set to OEM spec before when I got on and rode the bike....surging etc. I had to spend several hours modifying my map to correct for the problems. If I had to do all of my mods over again, I would have ensured that the TPS was set correctly (bought the bike used) before any tuning......oh well live and learn.

Q: you set the voltage when the bike is running??? Or, just when the key is on???
where in canada are you located???

Entropy,
There is no reason why you can't set the TPS with the engine running and in fact it is probably more accurate to do it running considering the charging system is charging at 13.2 to 13.8v verses 12.6 on just the battery, mind you..... the ECU should still be able to regulate both voltages (12.6 and when the engine is running) down to 5v without inaccuracy. I have found that trying to set the TPS with the engine running is more difficult (noise and engine vibration) and you'll notice how a little movement creates a substantial change in output voltage. I would rough set it with the key on, and then confirm the setting with the engine running.

brown, yellow and blue. Which two of the three do I use to measure the voltage?

My "A" model manual says there are three wires at the TPS: Yellow/white, Brown/Black, Black/White. I believe that the Yellow/white is the 5V reference, Brown/Black is the sensor output to the ECU and the Black/white is the ground. This can be safely proven by the use of three paper clips inserted under the seals...it is best to not let them touch, but you can't hurt anything even if you do. Attach the positive lead on the DVOM to the Yellow/white wire and the negative to the Black/white...key on should read 5v (or very close to it). Move the negative lead to the Brown/Black and the voltage (key on) should read ideally 1.07v. If not, then it is time to adjust the TPS.
If you have a "B" model then you can do the same tests....I just don't know the colours for the wires.....

I just set mine again to 1.07v.....and used safety pins to safely backprobe the connector. Now I have to keep freakin' safety pins in my tools box.....
