Latest Problem!

AFter finally resolving the clutch problem, I started on the ratty running around 4 to 5,000 RPMS! My first thought was maybe I miss aligned something when installing the cams. I checked and everything was perfect. Then I pulled the new plugs to see that #1 cylinder was not running as well as the others. I had already checked the throttle body sync and it is almost perfect (Same line on every gauge). I then switched the plugs and the same thing. I checked the compression and the lowest cylinder was 208 and the highest was 216. the #1 cylinder was 215 PSI Cranking pressure. Next I checked the resistance on the stick coils and they were all 1.11 Ohms. I hooked them all up and installed the plugs and they all fired the same. I also disconnected the PC3r and it ran worse. SO I am down to the #1 Injector or the ECU?

Ent, the expression "We have met the enemy and he is us" applies here. After thinking what / how this could happen, I know I messed it up. When I originally tried to start the engine, I turned the key on and off a few times to get the fuel system charged but it still would not start and run well. So in all of my hurry, I decided that maybe I could back fill the system by switching the fuel lines. When I changed them back the bike started and ran OK. The reason I do not think mapping will cure this is the fact that I put in new plugs and #1 cylinder darkened the plug where the others were closer to white! When I switched them around, the same cylinder was dark!

Yes, the compression Ratio is lower and leaning it out did make it run better but did not change the cylinder problem.

Right now, I think my fastest cure will be to get a set of used Throttle Bodies complete and change them. Find and Fix what ever is wrong later "IF" changing and injector does not cure it!

Just looked on the for sale area and someone says they have the Throttle Bodies for $250. I am buying them today if he replies!

Embarassed to say after spending a lot of time and $250 for another set of throttle Bodies, I think I have resolved the problem. I also see the changes Kawasaki made to the 2001 throttle bodies, they used a smaller shaft to hold the plates for better air flow over the plates (10 MM Nut on the 2001 and 12 mm nut on the 2000 Belcrank!

OH Yesn the "Problem" the RUBBER cap that seals the vacuum tubes had a crack in it that leaked Just noticed when I removed it! I can not change throttle bodies in 1 hour or less! (Not anything I wanted to be that good at! Tomorrow the progressive Controller and retard! The retard is easy and the controller ??
