Exhaust packing
I took my Ti Akrapovic end can apart to do some custom work on it. I had to drill the rivets and the packing was shot. I went to order a repack kit from Lockhart Phillips and they want $75.00 for it!!!! Some fiberglass, rivets and two bands. Shit I don't even need the bands!!! Is the packing in the Akrapovics different from any other exhaust? Are the rivets special or can I just head down to Lowes and grab some aluminum rivets. Any recommendation on packing?
Also, I need a new muffler clamp because the carbon fiber one that it comes with will scratch it. I'd like to have one that has the silicone rubber between the clamp and the muffler, Was wondering if the I could use the ones that Micron or Ti Force sells. Does anyone have an extra one they would like to sell?

Hahaha...now you know not to purchase anything through LP. HMF sells some nice woven steel packing. Last I checked it was $10 plus shipping.
Doug at Spencer Cycle probably has extra rivets for the Akra. Yes, they are special.

Packing
Turbo,
Thanks for the info. I didn't purchase anything from LP...yet. Actually I called Doug first and he referred me to LP....go figure. What's so special about the rivets?

Dunno. Repacked my Acra with 4 stroke packing from FMF and used aluminum rivets from Home Depot. Seems to work okay so far. Did a full track day and also some practice sessions on it.
But I would like to get some steel wool like packing to put over the perforated tube then cover with the fiberglass.
When I repacked both my R6 and the SV they idled MUCH better - and no discernable difference in my butt dyno on acceleration, either.
