Correct, but it was my mistake because I had a perfect match until "I" Decided to wet sand the clear for a better finish and now the panel I painted reflects more light! I plan to wet sand the other panels and then they will all match! The deal is, that I was perfect and then still this close. People that see the 2 side panels next to each other think the one I painted is the factory painted. You can do very well with this paint if you do not try to out do the factory (Which you can easily do!

If thats the quality finished product you are looking for and it is with in your budget then thats fine. My customers just plain demand more then that, I could not sell that as a finished job. Bottom line the two DONT match. Sit it out in the weather and the fine pigmants and high solvent content of the spray cans will not hold up and break down because of there chemical structure. As far as the color being varied from each bike that is correct. That is why every 3-stage color on the 12 I have what is called a step-down spray out card. That is a sprayed test panel with a different number of mid coats applied. That is where you get your varients, some bikes get a little more or a little less at the factory. With the paint that I use it takes 4-5 coats of mid color to hit it dead on the money.In one case I had to blend the upper to get it 100%. But thats 1 out of maybe 15(and that was the blue). Just ask ANYBODY that I have done work for and they will tell you. Like I said it is all in what you can afford and that you are happy with the finished product. Good luck with the bombs.

the difference in colorwrong i got was just about the same as what vincent got, and it was sprayed in a booth... It is NOT good enough unless the whole bike is srayed the same. Colorwrong IS colorwrong IMO, not just a diff in wet sanding.

All I plan to do is 1500 light wet sand the fairingto smooth the factory Orange peal and it will be fine for me. Let us see how the tail section works out then we will all know. To me, the difference in the $60 I spent to make the side panel look OK was a lot cheaper than the amount for a new panel that no one knows if it would match any better. I do not have $300 to $500 for paint, I barely have it for the engine!
