Power Commander III USB problem?

Put the PCIII USB on and on the first ride the gauges started to sweep like they do when you turn the key on and the clock would reset each time. It happened every 4 or 5 minutes and occasionaly the needles would stick at 8000rpm and about 40mph. All the time the bike ran fine. I disconnected the PC and things went back to normal. Before I send the PC back does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Terry

I would guess negative.... We don't intercept any of the signals going to the dash.

Since the other connector routes signals from the ECU up to the dash, my guess would be that he's unseated it partially.
