WORLD'S LARGEST MOTORCYCLE DRAG RACING EVENT

WORLD'S LARGEST MOTORCYCLE DRAG RACING EVENT

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The 2001 AMA U.S. Drag Racing Championship final event of the season -- the Z-Max World Finals presented by Orient Express -- is set for Nov. 9-11 at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Fla. And with over 700 entries, including riders from Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom, this is the world's largest all-motorcycle drag race.
In attendance will be England's Top Fuel legend, Brian Johnson, making his final appearance in the sport of drag racing. Johnson is retiring at the age of 53, after two decades of racing and leaves England with a 6.11 elapse time at 232 mile-per-hour record set this month at the England's final race of the season at Santa Pod Raceway. Brian will be making his final attempt to be the second person in history to break into the ever-elusive five-second zone.
Also in attendance will be the only person to record five-second quarter mile times, AMA/Prostar's own Larry "Spiderman" McBride, current Top Fuel Champion and record holder at 5.96. Larry will be seeking the Top Fuel Championship title in the "Heroes of Top Fuel Series." The AMA/Prostar promoted series in the only one in the United States featuring Top Fuel motorcycles in a championship series.
Racing action begins Friday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m, with 230-mph nitro-burning Top Fuel motorcycles -- the quickest motorcycles on the planet. Also in action will be Funnybike, Pro Modified, Pro Stock, Superbike, Streetbike Shootout, 600 SuperSport classes and the new Hot Rod Cruiser class. AMA/Prostar also features three additional Sportsman index categories and two bracket racing classes. The action continues Saturday with professional racing at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Z-Max World Finals presented by Orient Express final eliminations will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday with tickets available the day of the show. Adult tickets are $20 per day; $25 for a two-day pass; and $40 for a three-day pass. Juniors (age 2-12) are only $5 each day, and children under 2 are admitted free with a paying adult.
For more information contact AMA/Prostar at (256) 852-1101 or visit their website at www.amaprostar.com

I know the sleepy eye part. I've done Daytona to Hartford CT a few times straight, 20 hours.

SoBe Adrenaline Rush, good stuff for driving.

That weekend should be pretty cool.
