Power Commander Map Power & Smoothness
I ride a 2001 ZX12R with stock filter and exhaust. I noticed that you have reduced the fuel at high rpm's and large throttle openings on the supplied map (M204-001.MAP) from dynojet for stock bikes.
QUESTION TO THE KNOWLEDGABLE:
1. Does this map take into account the increased air flow (from RAM air) at the high speeds usually being experianced at these high rpm/throttle settings and thus the need for greater fuel, do power commander map makers take into account ram air (or only use a stationary bike on a dyno), or is this question not applicable because the bikes EFI measures and automatically adjusts to increased air flow?
2. Does anyone know with certainty if the power commanders supplied map (M204-001.MAP) actually improves a stock bikes horsepower? If so, are the changes to the base map made exclusively to get the greatest horsepower?
3. I've used the power commander to richen the fuel mixture at near closed throttle settings at higher rpm's to smooth out the on off throttle lash, as suggested by cliff Randall and others at the Easyrider's ZX-12 web site. THIS REALLY WORKS!! Has anyone else experimented and refined his suggestion? If so, would you be willing to share maps?
