Oil Squirters?
I just noticed that I only have "2" Oil Squirters? There is a Boss that could be used for the other 2 pistons. Is this normal? My Porsche had one for each piston as opposed to #2 and #4 pistons like in my Bike.

are 2 & 4 centre? (not sure on the zx12 how the numbering goes)
those will run hotter, perhaps they figured outerones didn't need extra cooling?
my 600 has a dual jet between 1&2 and 3&4, so each piston gets a healthy shot of oil

Yes, you have two. We all have two. My take is that Kawasaki found that those two cylinders needed the extra cooling oil due to a lack of splash and that they found that the other two got sufficient oil and so decided to reduce the oil in windage and conserve the flow. You can drill the bosses and put the jets into the blank two if you want and I might do that on a "big" or "severe duty" Maxton? Bonneville? engine.

Thanks Doug, I will look under the Pistons tops after the next Maxton to see if there is any carbon as opposed to the deep brown shine.

Vincent, If you see "carbon" under there it will be during the autopsy. These engines rarely get more than a light brown shine, especially with the synthetic oils.

Anybody know if you can purchase anything to increase the volumetric flow of the oil pump ? Seems like this may help solve the oiling problems that many of us are having.

12's don't have "Oiling Problems"
Inspect your pump Rotor/Stator and your pick-up. If Rotor/Stator have any nicks etc.-REPLACE.
Make sure pick up is clean and don't underfill your system.

Question Gentlemen;
Could the "Squirters" be a means of "Metering" oil flow at the rod feeder main bearings?? These do come off the #2 & #4 mains.
