From 14 to 20 AH Battery Pics
Thanks to Jim Owens (Again), I was able to put a YTX (or BTX) 20 battery in the old ZX12R. I sent some pict to Bergie to post. I took a few hours and was not difficult! I think for people with High Compression or large engines, or just a lot of Accessories this is a good Idea!

That would be a great mod for me. Can't wait to see the pics on how you did it.

How does that battery compare to a FBG gell cell? You went from 14 to 20 amps. You wont notice a difference if you were having issues. It will just turn it slow longer. 24V is the answer.

Actually I have had no problems ever. The fact that I plan to run a heating Blanket and a few other things I felt that they could run and drain the battery less (Which would make the ALternator work less) and maybe save a few HP? and would allow a longer crank if the engine got hot!

Thanks also to Bergie, here are the Pics!

You must also remove the 2 tabs that are sitting up and after remounting the two brackets (Grind the ends a little to reduce the size) lengthen the strap hole.

The last is a little blurry but shows the rebent and cut tabs to hold the battery in place!

I did the same Mod to my 12 last January. My starting problems have been reduced, but she can still be hard to start when hot. I think I need to upgrade my battery cables to gain the maximum effect of the extra amps.
