odd question: what color is 12R engine?
Before I put the 1290 back into the bike, I wanted to paint it the correct color. (shop painted it gloss black)
what was the correct color anyway, can someone look at theirs for me?
1. Flat Black
2. Satin Black
3. Rustoleum? Plastikote? flat black grill paint?

It is actually closer to a satin. It is like a chalk board black, Flat creates a large contrast. If you can paint the whole motor then just do regular engine paint black in the can at autozone. I have done that a couple of time. NO other black off the shelf will match the OEM black.

I think if you can find Rustoleum Satin Black Epoxy you'll be pleased.
