No Maxton for me! I have been COMETIC'D

I know the people on this board hate to hear the word poor, but when you do not have enough money, you must wait until you do (How else can you describe this but being poor? I am not ashame of being poor, but it does get in the way a lot of times). I ordered the Pistons from JE at the end of March and they were to be here by the beginning of May. The order was lost and by the time it was all said and done I was to have them by the 12th, then the 13 and then the 14 and now next week! What does poor have to do with this? If I had the money or room on my credit card I could have ordered them in January and had them by March or April! This really pisses me off because even my Step Son Randall put $1,000 of his own money into this and he only works at a Motorcycle dealership!

Add to this that I did get the pistons in time Saturday May 15, but 1 week later the Gasket and spacers ordered on May 4th did not show. Read my last post

Mr. Hill I'm sure you know this, but sometimes it help to hear again.
I just got it in a email.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a
>day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee... A
>professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of
>him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty
>mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the
>students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor
>then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the
>jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
>He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
>The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
>course, the sand filled up everything else.
>
>He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a
>Unanimous "yes." The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under
>the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling
>the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the
>professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar
>represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God,
>family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite
>passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained,
>your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter
>like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the
>small stuff.
>
>"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room
>for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all
>your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the
>things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are
>critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get
>medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There
>will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal." Take care of
>the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities.
>The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired
>what the coffee represented.
>
>The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no
>matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups
>of coffee with a friend."

Here is what happened in just the last 24 hours

I got a call and e-mail stating that my Pistons that I ordered late March were not shipped when I got home from Court on Friday. I sent a not too happy PM Reply to the person I ordered them from only to get Home today to see a Note on my door at Home stating that I had a package at the FedEx Station (It was the Pistons). It would have been nice if I had been told (at anytime up to today) that they "Were" Shipped for Saturday Delivery by FedEx or even if they had been shipped Red Label UPS on Thursday and not leave me to twist in the wind (Most coming out of my mouth). I have gone through so much Mental anguish over the last few weeks that I could not even enjoy looking at the Pistons (Which look like everything I wanted!)

SO now it looks like it still may be possible for me to make Maxton at the end of May which may be the Only race I can get to before September or October. I may be going over to see Pierre in SA during the Summer and I really have limited time and energy. Hopefully I will now get to one (1) race this year.

I was just Cometic'd today. Like I said earlier, I have all of the patience in the world for machines because they just about do exactly what is expected. They do not lie or make promises they cannot keep wheather or not they know that they cannot keep them. Unlike the Pistons, the gaskets were not shipped for Saturday delivery if they were shipped at all. I will not have anything in my bike made by Cometic even if they paid me. SO if and when they ever show up, they will be returned and I now need a good Head Gasket and .060 and .080 (If possible an .070) base spacer.

I will be working on the AC in my Van this Sunday and make plans for the June meet if nothing else happens. I have had enough and I am too old for all of the Lies (Knowing and un-Knowing) people in business tell nowadays! People like Johnny Cheese and Dave Owens, I have never heard anything bad about. Keep it that way and thanks for your Moral support!

Vincent,
don't bother trying to get an assortment of base spacers. Get a thin one, the add ss OEM base gaskets to get whatever height you need. They are .010" and you can stack em.

BTW you are right about the Cheeseman being service oriented. I was at his shop last night till 9:30pm as he assembled my motor. Checking everything twice takes time... Go back on Mon dial in the cams, slap it in the frame and dyno tune.

Final FINAL on Cometic.

#1, the Original Order was placed on May 4th and to be received between 13th of May and the 18th of May which never arrived. Problem #1 (Not a lie but still not done.

#2, I called them on Wednesday and they stated that the parts would be shipped that day and would be received by Thursday. (Lie #1)

#3, They called me on Thursday and stated that they had a problem and that the parts would not be shipped until later that day and that I would receive them on Friday. (Lie #2)

#3, On Friday, the called and stated that they had run out of material and would not finish until today and did I want Saturday Delivery which I said "Yes". Since there was no delivery on Saturday this is where I figured it was Lie #3. I was wrong here because at 4: 15 pm, FedEx Picked up the parts in Ohio.

#4, I drive to Baltimore and no parts and no FedEx No nothing. Today I called Cometic to get the tracking number only to see that FedEx stated that they had "Attempted Delivery on Saturday at 8:45 AM and the place was closed". The problem here is that they left no door tag and sent the parts back to Memphis Tn to be resent for Monday Delivery??

#5, I call FedEx and they credit my account because we both think that the driver knew they were not open and did not even go past to leave the tag. I have the parts now and will be sending one gasket to Jim Owens, so I will be selling 2 base spacers for a ZX12R and 1 head gasket for a STD Bore ZX12R.

Not 100% Cometic's fault, but waay over 90% because of the 7 earlier dates they could have sent the gaskets (along with not doing what they stated on 4 occassions) and I would have received them in time. I am calling Falicon Muzzys and Johnny Cheeseman for the spacer prices and Muzzy for a Head Gasket. End of this story.

Good OLE FED EX....

I cant stand the company....same EXACT thing use to happen to us all the time. STILL DOES when we get a delivery from a company that uses that sucky delivery service. I am only speaking of my experience with them in MY area of the country. Simply burns my ass!!!!!!!!!!

Here are our reasons for NOT shipping FED EX!

1. No tags left!

2. Will not stop if cars are not in the parking lot (does not think maybe we ARE inside working and cars are parked in the rear.

3. Cant tell when the HELL they are coming or going

4. Sometimes drop off are at 7.30pm...... HOUR AND HALF AFTER CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!

5. Boxes torn up...catch the driver all the time putting the holes to the wall so we cannot see them.

and the list could go on on on.....

To say the least....Fed EX drivers dont like me to much.....I dont cut them ANY SLACK!

UPS has the beat and beat and beat!

I am getting PISSED just thinking and typing this

OH I almost forgot.......

One of the drivers for Fed EX (we dont get along anylonger) would come by at 8:30 and pass us by. We dont even open the doors till 9am. His hub is 30 miles from us....didnt take to many phone calls by me and him driving back out to us for him to stop that shit. I raised so much Hell one day the plant super PAID a courier service to deliver our package. Keep in mind these were next and and 2 day packages!!
He would turn his cell phone off after he passed us so his manager could not contact him to have him swing back around and he would always have a excuse for why the phone was off.

After this all was stopped by his boss and he was on write up....he thought he would be a bigger smart ass and come by in the morning (before we opened) and leave a tag......then he would swing back between 12 and 1..... on our lunch hour when everyone was at lunch and tell his boss he made 2 trips.

He was a REAL Prick! I called Fed Ex and told them he was banned from the property and to send a different driver for our packages to be delivered by. To this day he has not steped foot back on the property and if he does so with a Fed Ex truck or Uniform on he will considered trespassing.

This is what I think Happened here also! My problem is, I have had to sue UPS 3 times just to get things right and they charge me close to 3 times more for the same service. It has come to the point that the US Post Office has started to look good (Something I thought would never be said by me!)

BTW, Muzzy does not have Std 83 mm head gaskets. The Stock Head gasket from Kawasaki is pretty good and I am calling Johnny today!
