ZX-12R DURABILITY
Could anyone comment on the durability/reliability of the ZX-12R? I'm particularly intersted in the 02-03 model.

Mine is a 2000 model. I have 23,000 miles on it. I would think that all the models would exhibit similar reliability - actually, the post-2000 models probably have had less down time since most of the recalls got worked out on the 2000 model.
Anyway, I have lost 0 hours of riding due to anything breaking on the bike. All service has been in response to scheduled maintenance or recall notices. My bike is used as a daily commuter, with country road blasts thrown in every weekend, weather permitting.

I have just over 15000 km (just over 9000 miles) on my 02 and I haven't had any problems.

Mine is an 02 model, and I am approaching 20k miles on my 12....I think redelk had like 35k on his 12 and it was fine...
haha I'll keep ya posted, cause I want to hit 35k by the end of this riding season, and add another 25k next season alone (four corners run)

had 12k miles in one year. No major mechanical probs.

33,000 miles with one warrany claim which was for the alternator, no biggie. The thing still runs like a clock. aside from the 16 sets if tires and 12 sets of brakes. The bike still looks like new ane runs better than new.

i put over 14k my first year, and only the clutch switch went out consistently. its been fixed 3 times under warranty so far, but thats what warranties are for, extended ones whoohooo
i was one of the lucky ones to get my dealer to actually replace my entire clutch though when it went out at 10k, dont ask me how i made it that long without it going dry quicker, dang kawi and their wet clutch....

My first had 23,000 when I sold it (2 yrs )..... never had a problem
My second has 18k+ (and its 18months old)
Redelks bike had close to 50k. One guy here in AZ? had close to 60k on his 2000.

About 10 miles shy of 50K and still had the OEM clutch basket AND fiber/steel plates in it.
TB, I think your talking about Old Kneedragger. If he's still got that 12R, I'd be surprised if it had less than 80K on it by now.
