I go back and forth on this. The key things I think about are:

1. Being seen
2. Light burnout.

Both of those things seem to indicate (to me) that it is better to keep the highs on at all times.

I only use the high beams on the bike when I need to. I have changed the bulbs in my bike though. stock they come with 55W low beams and 60W high beams. I have installed lights that are 80W low beams and 100W high beams, I have no doubt that everyone sees me comming, Just dont ride in front of me at night if we are on a group ride.....lol

If the bike has stock headlights, I Hi Beam it! I would rather piss a few off and BE SEEN!

Now, if there's some PIAA's or something in there, I'm a little more comfortable with the low beams....

The Commonwealth of Virginia motorcyclist's handbook provided by DMV recommends using the highbeam during the day on motorcycles. I don't think it's a law, but it's recommended.

Same here......I don't ride at night unless I'm running late getting home, or a rare occasion. Lows during the day unless I want to get someones attention.
