Funny guy!

The thing is I remember ready an article in a mag that had the same sort of comparison but more controlled. The comparison was broken down into 4 categories:
1) Acceleration
2)Braking
3)Skidpad (that circle track)
4)damn, can't remember the 4th.

Anyway, the bike won all except for braking. With the lower centre of gravity, the car out performed the bike. The bike was limited by having the rear whell lift.

cycle world or motorcyclist did that a few years ago using a vette and a top sport bike (I can't remember which one). I think the 4th test was something like 0-60-0 or zero to a hundred and back to zero (which the bike won)

I believe it was the gixxer 1K that was used in that Motorcyclist article with the vette.

The article was a sport bike and a modified sedan. Can't remember eithr. Just remember the car and the bike during the stop test and the bike was on it's front wheel, while the car was out braking it.

That was silly. Tracks are NOT like regular roads. Regular roads (in general) have:

1. Less corners
2. VAST straight areas
3. lights and such
4. other traffic (bike has CLEAR advantage in traffic)

Lets see a comparo of a bike and car in a more "regular" road scenario that people are likely to drive every day on. I'm betting HEAVY on the bike.

OH!! Almost forgot, Car and Driver did an interesting test called the "0 to 100 to 0" test. Apparently this test was very popular in the 60's. One of the worlds FASTEST cars in this test was (at the time) a Shelby AC Cobra. The bike they chose to test (not even a true race bike) completed the 0 to 100 to 0 test before the fastest car tested (the AC Cobra) even got to 100. . Take that car geeks.

I cal BS on this one, in 1967 the AC cobra was able to run 10,s in the 1/4 mile I dont think there was a bike in the 60's that could run 14,s The AC cobra 0-100-0 test held the record for a very long time. Back then it would spank any bike in any test, you gotta remember this was in '67.

Hey - just writing what I remember is all. It wasn't a bike from the 60's though - the bike was from late 90's. The point was that even with modern cars (they had a vett, and a porsche 911 among others) that not only was the cobra still fastest 0-100-0 among the cars, but the bike beat em all.

OH! and the bike was an old zx-9 - imagine if it was an '11 (at the time) or a 10 of today .

One more thing - according to the 0 to 100 to 0 test, the bike KICKED the cars collective ASSES on the breaks - makes me wonder about the "breaks are better in the car" comment in the movie....

Ahhhh, well that will make a difference. No doubt a modern sportbike will kick ass on those tests. But it's pretty insane that they are still comparing modern bikes and cars to a '67 Cobra AC, no doubt that is one kick ass car.
