Arata Full Titanium Exhaust for ZX-12R

Hey, all. I haven't posted in the forum for.....a long time!

I'm in the market for a full exhaust system for the 12. While digging around, I ran across the Arata system. Full titanium, selling for $1,199.00, which is at least a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than an Akro Evo.

These pipes were formerly branded as Striker.

Web site for the American importer/distributor is at www.arata-ex.com. I sent an email to the site and, to my surprise, one of the partners called me on the phone and we had a nice conversation. He claims that the pipe is more of a street pipe than pure race pipe (with the intent of not losing any low end or midrange) and that the fit and finish are excellent.

Does anyone have any experience with these pipes, under either the Arata or Striker brand names?

Thanks, all!

Hmmmm......nobody's heard of this pipe, I gather.

I found that Dynojet has a ZX-12R PCIII map for the pipe (under the Striker name), so SOMEONE has to have it....

I guess that the search engine did not work for you? This is all of the times the ARATA has been discussed. Does that make us all "Nobody"?

I know, but the "Hmmmm no body has heard of this pipe" was the part that deserved (at least some) attention. Should not people at least "look" a little before they make a Broad statement? Yes, I was harsh to a Newbie and for "That" I apologize. But to all Newbies, I say, use the search and just put in the name of what you have a question about "Before" saying we do not know about something. "Please"!

OK Mr. Swft?

My apologies Vincent, you are quite right. I did scan post titles a few pages into the board, but like an idiot I didn't think to do a search. :o Certainly not trying to imply any lack of knowledge!

You'd think I'd know better.

Thanks for the link.

And to add further embarassment to my situation, I see that in this thread:

http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=1&TID=6864

...that I and Mr. Vincent Hill had already discussed Arata pipes briefly.....(in my defense, I would note that this was one year ago...)

I think I'll just go put myself in the corner for a few minutes.

The good news is, they "ARE" the most beautiful pipes made period. The second good news is "I" Think they are better than the Akrapovic and for less money. Here is the question for you, Akrapovic made a 4-2-1 with 2 exits which is almost like the TiForce. The question is, since The founder of Arata is the same person that started TiForce, why not Ti-Force? (My thinking is that the stock 12 uses a long "2" Section just like the Ti-Force)

I remember Zhooligan being very interested in the Arata two years ago. But they weren't available at that time, so he went with the Ti Force.

I don't know if they pay race contingencies.

The guy that I spoke to was Owen Weichel at 888-ARATAEX (272-8239). Give him a call.
